Masman Curry Paste Thai Massaman Sauce Packet 50g by Lobo

I would probably spell this as Massaman. The ingredients of this curry paste are powdered cloves, powdered cinnamon, and powdered star anise, and thus is a dense-tasting sauce, particularly as you add a cinnamon stick and a star anise on top. You would also need a tin of coconut milk. The recipe I used is from Thai Made Easy by Yui Miles. This is not a curry you want every week, so, although the usual Thai curry pastes will last 6 months in the fridge, I don't think it is worth getting a larger jar, as I'd never use it.Because the flavor is so powerful, you need something like green beans as a side dish.Traditionally this is cooked with a cheap cut of beef such as shin, but you can also cook it with diced chicken thighs or breast.

good sauce base, and quite a authentic flavour.as with many thai produced items, there is a very annoying sticker listing ingredients in English attached over the cooking directions, which comes to pieces and actually removes the printed layer of the original packet when you try to peel it off. I understand the list is required by law, but it could be attached somewhere that doesn't obscure helpful cooking instructions.

The most authentic massaman curry paste I have tried. Simple instructions to make a curry on the packet, my tip is to use a high coconut extract can of coconut milk (at least 75% coconut extract) and to add a tsp of ground star anise at the start of cooking. Have ordered more.
