Q: Since grade is unknown, Are any of the pieces magnetic.? Slightly magnetic?

these are stainless steel with a nice finish. I had one left over and tested with a magnet. ZERO gripping force from a good size magnet. These are nice latches. The only flaw is it is hard to get the "catch" lined up and installed because the screws are behind the rod. Install the catch first and the bigger latch second.

Q: What diameter mounting screws does this use?

I used an #10 X 3/4 Phillips head screw. Nice and tight fit. Have fun.

Q: Whay type/grade of stainless steel is this made from?

I don’t know what grade or type, but I have it on my chicken coop and so far it has shown no wear or rust.
