This was my first time reading Oscar Wilde’s only novel. It safely journeyed overseas from the U.S. to Japan, with no dents or folds suffered during the ordeal, and the book itself looks nice. The portrait gracing the front cover is how I imagined Mr. Gray would look, and it's a beautiful little book on my shelf.The novel itself is quite philosophical. I was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtful it is, as this intensifies the Gothic horror simmering beneath. Mr. Gray's first encounter with his altered portrait was tense. I found myself, despite his misdeeds, pitying the man. After having been introduced to the concept of Dorian Gray from the 2009 film, and then watching the 1945 classic, this was an excellent way to round out the rest of the story as it was intended to be consumed - through print.The Picture of Dorian Gray has become my favorite book because it is truly masterful in its prose and storytelling, weaving long sentences into sumptuous morsels that dense prose lovers will enjoy. Its internal focus - that is, its character-driven narrative - may discourage fans of action-heavy stories with more plot-centered happenings. If you want something quietly terrifying and cerebral, this book is a superb pick. I highly recommend Dorian Gray to all Gothic horror and classic literature lovers!

My first Amazon review. I enjoyed this novel thoroughly and annotated all throughout. The cover artwork was my driving force for buying this specific copy. The physical book did not disappoint, nor did the story itself. Absolutely beautiful. Printed new, no typos, excellent formatting of the text. Get this version and no other!

Well written, very good to read original story. Hollywood has made ok movies but none make sense.

Was of money. It’s cheaper for a reason. Looks like it was just cut up roughly. Very cheap and sideways. All the pages are messed up. Returning this.
