Here's the thing: you'll want a big, metal, expensive cage IF you're using big, expensive cameras and equipment to attach it all on. But for the rest of us using smaller cameras, SLRs, and less accessories for our small films, these plastic brands are enough for us. But of all the inexpensive cages out there, I can't imagine a better one for your buck than this one. There's less expensive ones, but I don't like the looks of them. They look more inconvenient and flimsy. But for this product, made of a thick, hard plastic, for just a little more money you get a little more in return, and it makes all the difference. The best feature is the incredible metal built follow focus. Worth every penny. I also appreciate the build of the matte box, and the cloth cover it comes with, the shoulder pad and grips to carry it around on are comfortable, and the counterweight is a must. And all the parts come together tight and sturdy. I'm not wild about the release plate though, or the matte filter holders. Those things are too plasticy, but not in a way that they'll ruin your shot using them. You also get extra parts, and you can attach accessories on the cage. It works very well, builds your muscles carrying it, (you need to lift more anyways), and for its price range I think it's the best you can get. (No instructions on how to piece it together though, but there's You-Tube for that).

Good shoulder rig in general, but the follow focus is crap. It's been a few months that I bought it and the screws inside slid (it means the wheel won't turn properly). It happened to me in the middle of a set and it's pretty frustrating because then I tightened it, it was good for a day, and then it broke again. It happened to me 4 times in total while I was filming. Don't get this poor quality follow focus, you'll avoid lots of frustrations.

Took 2hrs to put together no instructions, metal rods very heavy I plan on upgrading to carbon, otherwise all the parts are there and in good shape does the job good quality follow focus but tricky to get it to stay solidly on the rods gear ring is cheap and next to useless just using the focus gear directly on the lens seems to work

best stuff ever ! For that money, steal deal. And follow focus is fantastic
