Excellent
Had it a month; love it. It's the Core i7-1165G7 version. I'm a photographer and I've been tethering it to my cameras. Everything about it works flawlessly. Fast, especially when running on AC in "performance" mode. The OLED display is a more accurate image rendition than the retina screen on the Macbook Pro it replaced. The keyboard has a nice feel. The whole physical design and construction is pleasing and solid.Negatives: The screenpad is a useless gimmick; I just turn it off and use it as an excellent touchpad. To access a couple features (like "performance" mode), ASUS forces you to register. Power supply/charger is far from compact.

A very slick laptop
I spent a lot of time trying to pick a laptop I'd be happy with performance. Many low cost laptops use lower capacity microprocessors so I wanted to make sure this one had plenty of horsepower. This one comes with an 11th generation i7 from intel with plenty of power and speed and offers sluggish free performance. No disappointment so far even after setting up AV software. This product presents well from first opening of the box to first boot of the computer. The computer comes well equipped with a nice sleeve to protect from scratches, a USB ethernet dongle and USB C based power supply. The written instruction manual is sparse but really isn't needed as the computer pretty much sets itself up once powered on. Be prepared to present your Microsoft and other platform credentials. Best to do this at home so you can connect to Wi-Fi from the start and update and register from the beginning. It doesn't seem to come with too much bloatware but does include a trial for McAfee and Office 365. First boot was quite seamless and gives a chance to trial O365 or connect with an existing account. I already had a subscription to O365 and it connected me seamlessly to my account and started downloading files from my OneDrive without any extra steps. This was wonderful. Unfortunately linking to my McAfee account wasn't as seamless but not difficult, it just took a few manual steps. It would be nice if McAfee would make this part seamless too.As for hardware, the keyboard is a good size for a 14 inch with solid key clicks. The mousepad/second screen is unique and takes a little getting used to. Since the mini-screen doubles as a mousepad, you may find that you spend a little time enabling/disabling the screen vs. touchpad but after a while it becomes second nature. With an external mouse, this goes away. You can assign arbitrary apps to open on the mini-screen which can be useful but requires the right app. Its good for things like YouTube, Netflix and other media types. Like any second screen, apps can also be dragged from one screen to the other. The laptop also supports Thunderbolt interface. This allows other devices to be connected to the laptop like external drives, screens and other devices through a single docking port. It also supports charging through the Thunderbolt port. The provided charger is based on USB C and the simple quick start guide indicates the PC can be powered from 5-20 volts.Overall, very pleased with this laptop and can recommend. Its small and lightweight, <3 lbs, yet comes with plenty of compute power and includes a nice built in second screen.Follow-up: Still very happy after a few months of use. The audio quality is great. So far, the only disappointment is trying to connect through a Dell Thunderbolt work station. It charges fine, but so far haven't been able to use multiple external monitors.

Excellent, except for a few things
In a nutshell: Totally happy with this laptop, despite one or two things (see below).Love: The speakers (these aren't Bose speakers but they're plenty loud for a mid-sized room and the sound quality is fine), the keyboard, webcam and digital shutter, the durability, and the graphics & graphics card (I'm not a gamer, but I do quite a bit of editing, rendering, and viewing). As well as the price.Don't love: It does get hot (underneath, not on top). It's not the lightest laptop Ive had (but also not the heaviest). And I wish the battery lasted awhile longer.Overall, very happy with it.

Fast and beautiful screen
I got the 14" i7 16gb 512ssd and has beautiful screen and super fast. The touchpad is like a smartphone but i just turned it off to use cursor. Downgraded from 90ghtz to 60ghtz for more battery but its still fast and smooth browsing. Overall nice laptop for 1200. I didnt buy for gaming but for my new job as realtor. Office use. Will buy a 27" display later. Lots of ports to connect anything and has a webcam.

Terrible touch pad. Have sent for service three times in 8 months
If the laptop worked reliably it would be fine. However, the touchpad is a disaster. It only works for a few weeks then it becomes unresponsive. I have spent over 24 hours total with ASUS online support in the past 4 months. Now, I am sending my laptop in again for another touchpad replacement....this will be my third touchpad. Just buy something else.Update: The second time I sent the unit in for screen pad repair I was told nothing was wrong. More wasted time and time without use of the unit.

cpu not as advertised
Only first impressions after a few days. Most importantly, the processor is listed incorrectly. It is actually 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz . All other specs are as advertised. Overall a well made solid construction and performer. I am not a power user, more work oriented day to day spreadsheets, accounting software, word processing, web surfing. this is a replacement for a 4 year old Lenovo yoga intel i5 @2.50, 8GB which served me well but has become too slow. This is meant to last me another 3-4 years. Going to be a learning curve with the screenpad, some accustoming to the keyboard which is a bit looser feel than the Lenovo. The screen is beautiful, the machine is not surprisingly MUCH faster than my Lenovo. SO far so good. The machine arrived a day earlier than promised in an Amazon box in which was the original packaged machine from Asus, but without any buffering so the box was not secured within the Amazon box - a bit worrying but it seems to have survived its journey. Will update with more experience.

great quality laptop: fast, light and compact with excellent performance just ignore screenpad
i really like my zenbook; it's light, super fast with great battery life; i just can't get used to the screenpad, but that's OK because the screenpad can easily be disabled (f6) and it doesn't t seem to add much, if anything, to the cost. so.. it's a great quality laptop even without a screen on the mouse pad.
