Johnston & Murphy Men’s Conard Cap Toe|Hand-Burnished Leather|Rubber Sole

I have wide feet and so needed a brand that had that option. I had not been able to find Oxford style wide shows at Destiny USA which is a really huge mall in Syracuse, NY, so had to shop online.These shoes are very very attractive. They are very well-made. And they are very comfortable. They did take a few weeks to properly break in. They were not too bad until they did, but I have stopped noticing that I am wearing them at this point, which is significant. I can certainly walk a mile or two comfortably in these. I'm not sure what would happen if I attempted ten miles. I may never know!They have the smell that shoe stores or shoe departments used to have when I was a kid back in the 1970s. The insoles add to the comfort. They make my wide feet look narrower than they are and more elegant than they are. I bought both brown and black shoes in this model. I would definitely buy them again.The last time I bought shoes they lasted for 20 years, so I am skeptical of shoes at the 70 dollar mark. If these shoes last as long as I anticipate, then the price is worth it.

So far so good!These are close to $200 cheaper than the Strand cap toe, and I feel like they are a solid pair of shoes. In terms of quality, the leather seems to be quite nice, although obviously not as nice as Allen Edmonds or Pearl and Co. The sole seems to be welted however, I am not sure what type of welting they used. The sole is synthetic, not leather, but looks really nice with a contrast dark purple piece on the heel. The shoes also feature a padded footbed, which is incredibly comfortable.In terms of durability, only time will tell, as I have only worn these a few times. I will make an update in the coming months.Overall, a great pair of dress shoes given the reasonable price point.

Really nice shoes for the price. I am in no position to spend several hundreds of dollars on shoes - especially dress shoes that only get used a couple times a week. For the price, these shoes are very comfortable, very stylish, and well constructed. I had previously purchased them in tan, and had to have the black ones as well.I like the flair provided by the blue laces (black are included as well if you want to be more subdued). The stitching is top-notch, the insoles comfortable, and the shoes really just seem to hug your foot.The soles are hard rubber, not leather, which I think is fine.

Shoes appear to have solid construction and quality materials. Fit is generous. Footbed is quite comfortable. Upper leather is a little stiff and will require some breaking in. That said, I wore them 2 days in a row of-the-box and experienced no pain, no hotspot or pinch whatsoever. Color and style exactly as advertised. I usually stick to J&M or CH products because I've had great experiences with them in the past. Good quality, stylish and durable shoes are expensive and I those these were relatively reasonable. I am really hard on shoes so time will tell if this is a good product.

I love these shoes. This is the second pair of Conard wingtips that I have purchased, and my fifth pair of Johnston & Murphy. These shoes look amazing. I love how they have the classic look, but still allow you to get a little crazy with the colored laces. These shoes go great with a suit, and they look good with jeans too.March 2017 Follow up: I still love these shoes - they have held up so well. I am in the market for a new pair of brown oxfords, and I still can't decide whether or not it would be better to just buy a new pair of these. I honestly think these are one of the most attractive shoes on the market right now.

The shoe is about what you'd expect from Johnston & Murphy. Pretty classic design, but stylish.The shoe has rubber soles but designed to look like stitched leather soles. even as the rubber wears down. Only complaint is that the leather in the vamp section is a bit thin, making it prone to crease. Nothing to write home about, and pricey for what you get, but if you like the brand and know how they fit, it gets the job done.

Johnston and Murphy shoes are always reliable, good looking, quality shoes, and these are no different. They had a different look than my old wing tips with the straight toe cap and I like them a lot!
