F.A. Davis Company Rad Notes

Recommended for a quick recap
It’s not entirely detailed which is kind of what you want with a book to fit in your pocket. Definitely have to know your positions for the most part. If you’re just starting with school this may not be for you. Comes with a helpful cartoon of each position including the contrast studies. There is room for your own notes with techniques for each position. There are little helpful notes in the beginning for pt care, vitals, contrast studies, transferring patients, DR/CR, beam alignment, etc. I love that I can write in it and erase as needed. My only vice is that it’s not as easy to find the positions. Everything is kind of crammed in there so I will be using sticky notes to highlight positions that I’ll need a little touch up on. Overall I enjoy it. I actually like this more than Merrill’s. Mainly because it’s smaller, I can write in it, and it gets to the point. Recommended!

Much needed!
Arrived pretty fast. I'm a rad tech student. This book is perfect. Waterproof and reusable. Very portable. Really help me out in clinical. Provides color picture projections which makes a huge difference! Also all the info you need for majority of the exams are in this book. Even has info on patient care, DR and CR. Moreover it has technique pages to fill in the kVp and mAs. Great size as well. Lastly, this book doesn't provide kVp and mAs chart for body parts. So I just google up info on that plus it really depends on the machine that you're using as well. This book is a bit pricey but its pack with information.

You'd have to be pretty familiar with your routines to know what youre looking ...
It works well as a refresher, but with that being said, I wouldn't study from it if I were a student since it doesn't break down whats needed for each routine. You'd have to be pretty familiar with your routines to know what youre looking for. But it shows good visual examples of how to position the patient and what angles to use.

Great for students
This book made my life so much easier at clinical's. The little tabs at the bottom make it really easy to find the projections you are looking for. A great little book if you are learning or are about to start a rotation.
