Blu Smart Electric Toothbrush, Sonic Power Toothbrush with Interactive Live Tracking App for Adults (Black)

My teenage daughter has used this toothbrush for the last year and a half. By using it along with the app, her brushing has been more consistent and her dentist was even impressed with her improvements. The only issue we ran into was being on the bathroom counter, the USB connector began to rust a little. I reached out to customer service and they were willing to ship me a replacement base. Good customer service is so rare these days that I was pleasantly surprised when they were so easy to work with! Thank you, Blu!

First, I have to say I have been using a top rated sonicare toothbrush for 20+ years, somehow I feel like my teeth are cleaner after using this, it's not logical but who knows? The cons however are you have to have your phone with the app open in the bathroom with you and Keep the screen on, not a deal breaker but, if you brush and don't open the app first you don't get credit. One reason I got this was so I could see if my kids are brushing well but it doesn't work, it would be better if recorded the information without having to open the app, especially since my youngest doesn't have a phone and phones in the bathroom are really not a great idea. I'm still adjusting my settings to improve how it works for me but I'm hopful for what the future holds in this technology

Here is a plus and negative list.+ Toothbrush is heavy and feels good in your hands- Dislike that I'd you power off before the cycle ends, it forgets what intensity setting you were on- Brush head is hard to install. Feels insecure.- App, while easy to understand, it doesn't work. It is extremely hard to get it to sense the area you are brushing.- we stopped trying with the app- we will buy oral B when the 2 brush heads are dead that came with this. It's so unfortunate.

After trying cheaper smart toothbrushes with Bluetooth apps that the apps didn't work or the brush wouldn't link to my phone, I FOUND THIS! I didn't want to pay sky high prices as some of these name brands have. This toothbrush and app work great! And one of the best features is that as a parent I can log in from my phone to see my kid's teeth brushing progress each time, I can set notification reminders for them to brush, they can see the quality of their brushing in real time, you can reorder more brush heads right through the app, and you can email a toothbrushing report to your child's dentist. I'm sure there's more I haven't discovered yet. But this toothbrush and app have far exceeded my expectations! I only gave 4 stars because there were 2 colors (black or white) to choose from but one came with a discount price and the other didn't... My daughter would've preferred the other color but I was going to save $20.

I am an Oral-B electric toothbrush kind of guy so when approaching an electric toothbrush at this price level I have to weigh how well this BLU Bluetooth Toothbrush stands up against the brand that I feel sets the bar.The good news is that while I don't think it cleans as well as the Sonic rotary brushes, it does help make you achieve better brushing thanks to its mobile app.The toothbrush itself is very nice. It has a premium look and feel to it and comes with a charging base. When you take it out of the box it has no charge, and you will need to plug it in for 12 hours (recommended) before it's ready for initial use. While a charging base and USB cable are connected, you will need to purchase a USB-C charging brick.Once the toothbrush is fully charged, you should connect to the iOS or Android app. I was amazed at how easy it was to pair the toothbrush with my iPhone. The app does a superb job of automatically pairing your toothbrush, through Bluetooth, without you having to go to the phone's settings. It's just done automatically within the app and I really liked that. The app and the toothbrush are so well paired in fact, that you can press the start brushing button on the app and the brush immediately goes into action.The app acts as a tutorial on proper tooth brushing, guiding you to areas of your mouth to place your brush and then counting down the time you need to concentrate there. I was very surprised to see how accurate the app was able to locate the specific area of my teeth that was being brushed, and when it sensed that my brush was in the wrong place, it quickly flashed instructions to get me back on track. Pretty Neat!The Blu Toothbrush has a powerful motor that does an admirable job of scrubbing the surface of your teeth. Without having to apply any pressure and just let the brush do its job, I felt as if the vibrating brush head was doing an excellent job cleaning my entire mouth. The manufacturer claims that it removes plaque within the first few minutes of use and I absolutely got the sense that those claims were being met.The toothbrush has one power button that alternates through 5 different modes that includes a general clean, a whitening mode, dental polishing, soft for sensitive teeth and sensitive teeth and gum cleaning.The included instructions are excellent in being very thorough in taking you through all aspects of the toothbrush and its app.On the negative end, I am surprised that the manufacturer didn't opt for a simple AC plug for the charging unit. Would have made things easier and not forced the buyer to have to seek out a charging brick. There is also no travel bag included here which I think would have been a nice extra at a minimal cost.Another negative is that using this toothbrush and the app at the same time can be messy. My tablet screen was filled with toothpaste "spit" because I was looking at the app while brushing.Now we come down to whether this smart toothbrush is right for you...As an adult, I think we have all become aware of how our teeth should be properly brushed. I think a product like this is overkill for adults. On top of that, it seems the only way you can get replacement brush heads is through the company's website at $8 per head (in addition to tax and shipping) which is more expensive than Oral-B replacement heads (at about $5.60 per head).If I had the choice of this Blu Smart Toothbrush or one made by Oral-B, I would absolutely go with the latter.Now, that being said, if you are buying this for a child or teenager that you are attempting to teach better brushing skills to, this is a perfect choice. They will find that using the app is incredibly fun, and at the same time, learning skills to help them better clean their teeth. The app provides a history of a family member's oral hygiene which can be later reviewed. In all, it's a very well-conceived app.Furthermore, if you are buying this for a child, there is a much cheaper Blu Smart Toothbrush kids version ($50 less) of this toothbrush made for that age group available on Amazon.Final Thoughts: This is an excellent, premium toothbrush that is designed to clean your teeth very well. However, the included app and whether you really need that kind of assistance should be the only reason to consider this brush. Otherwise, you are entering an exclusive ecosystem where replacement brushes are more expensive than the competition and can only be bought through their website (I did not see them on Amazon).

I'm very disappointed in this toothbrush. When I first got it I downloaded the app. I was very excited to have it monitor my brushing habits. I've never been able to get it to work though. When I tried to open it on my phone it wouldn't, so I finally deleted it.The toothbrush itself is just okay. It is definitely not worth as much as they charge for it. I do not like the clean setting, nor the sensitive setting. The whitening and polishing settings are okay. I've had other toothbrushes that were electric that work much better and that were a lot cheaper. Also, it pauses after 30 seconds to let you know to move to different section and then after four times it just shuts off but it doesn't seem to be consistant. I also don't like that you have to go through all of the settings to turn it off.I would not recommend this toothbrush.
