Soooo I bought what I thought was really cool spear to take to the Bahamas on my month long vacation. I have also purchased a BLU3 nomad dive set up for $2400. I thought I was sent up quite well to go out and shoot some fish and lobster. After 10 shots the rubber band that propels the spear became unattached at the string line and there was no way to put it back together. I was so excited about this product and now I am sorely disappointed. I hope this company will do something for me so that I can raise their rating a little bit. Buyer beware

Seems well built/sturdy. Can't wait to use it on my next trip to the FL keys. It should have come with instructions/paperwork though.

My divemaster helped me reconfigure my spear. In using the provided black band, the spear just bounced off the Lionfish! Using the longer configuration and a longer band (red tubing), we turned the spear into a highly effective tool. Another complaint is that the spear is already rusting, so be prepared to treat for that after a few uses. This spear is particularly good for a woman who doesn’t have the strength to pull and maintain the elastic. The trigger allows you to be more accurate.

I've read other reviews before purchasing and most were positive. However, there were a couple of reviews on other listing with different spear tips that mentioned the same problem I had. The band was too weak for the spear to work effectively in the shorter setup. In the longer setup, the band is WAY too small to get anywhere near the trigger catch. The band I received looked like a 24" 7/16 band. It may work well if you buy a new band.
