Easy to use and understand, these cards have provided a breakthrough with exploring and resolving communication conflicts in the classroom as well as with working groups. I highly recommend the Empathy Set.An issue or conflict is identified and then we sit in a group and choose the card that expresses the feeling and/or needs that apply. The cards provide a safe way to enter into and conduct a conversation for exploring and solving a given issue while strengthening awareness of causes and reactions.This is an inexpensive but highly effective tool for classrooms, business teams, and work groups.

I learned about these cards while doing a training session. I bought them and I'm surprised how useful they have been in getting in touch with my feelings and needs as well as others I may be working with. High quality cards with a super useful purpose. I highly recommend!

At least when new they are too sick to hold in your hand. You really have to use a table.

I learned how to use these cards in mediation training. I use my extra set with my kids to help them express their feelings and identify needs so we can work toward resolution.

The feeling cards simply have the emotion word printed twice on them with the logo in the center of the card, but the cards do not include the emotion definitions which would be helpful to ensure everyone is on the same page and to expand emotional intelligence. For example "envious" is in the deck, but "jealousy" is not. Envy involves 2 people is “when we want something that another person has,” whereas jealousy involves 3 people and is “when we fear losing a relationship ... that we already have.” Or being "resentful" is more closely tied to being envious (I want what they have) vs being mad. Surprised the primary emotion of fear was not included or some of the words around fear.The cards could also include synonyms to help people fine tune emotion knowledge.

I bought this for my team(college age) to play. They love learning about their teammates and how to build rapport.
