Organic Basmati Rice 2 pound Pouch Earth's Promise
A product of Pakistan, the fragrance and flavor of this USDA certified organic basmati rice is excellent. This particular brand is stated to be grown sustainably and be low-arsenic—something I admit I didn’t realize was an issue but glad to hear this company take steps to minimize the arsenic. The two pound pouch is re-sealable and the rice should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place away from heat and humidity. The flavor is delicious and basmati rice can be used in various dishes but since it is a bit sturdier than jasmine rice it is also a good choice for things like fried rice. For people with allergens the rice is produced in a facility that is free of peanuts, gluten, tree nuts or eggs. To estimate shelf-life at the time of this review in July 2021 the expiration date is 29 months in the future but dates will vary.

Not trustworthy.
This looks like a fine rice, as it should be,grown in the Himalayas and costing a premium price, but nowhere in on the packaging is it stated that it is aged. In the description it is stated that it is naturally aged, but the seller did not reply to my question about aging, so I can only conclude that this is not an aged riice. There's a great deal of dishonesty and carelessness in the organics industry and this is an example of it.

Expensive, but excellent quality
This organic basmati is excellent in quality - the aroma when cooking (and that moment when you first take the cover off the pot when it is done!) is heavenly. The taste is delicious with a very subtle almost sweetness to it. It cooks well, expanding in length, and keeping its shape through out. While I find the quality excellent, it is a bit expensive even for organic basmati. Basmati is more expensive than ‘regular’ rice anyway, and you would of course expect organic varieties to be even more expensive, but at $6/pound it is starting to become a bit overpriced. So, overall, I would give the product 5 stars for quality (which is excellent) but reduce the overall rating by one star due to the cost which is just a bit too much.

Excellent Quality Basmati
Because I grew up on Uncle Ben’s converted rice, I found rice to be a waste of calories — until, that is, I discovered as an adult all the rice varieties out there and their distinct qualities. Basmati is a sturdy long-grain rice that, not surprisingly, pairs well with Indian dishes, although it can always be eaten as a side to just about anything. This basmati from Pakistan not only tastes great but also earns extra marks for being organic. A rice shouldn’t have to say “low arsenic,” but because imported rice sometimes does contain too much, I appreciate the label.Basmati is always going to be more expensive the run-of-the-mill rice, but you should compare across other organic brands. Because of the quality, I wouldn’t hesitate to get this again.— Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Noticeably Better Quality
We eat a lot of rice. Brown, white, long grain, jasmine, basmati and I've used all of them in my easy instant pot jambalaya at one time or another.Well, I used this Earth's Promise Basmati Rice to make my jambalaya the other night and it was by far the best batch of jambalaya I've ever made. This rice is super fresh and it cooked perfectly. It also has a wonderful sweetness that shone even through the Cajun spices. My granddaughter was here the next day and had a bit of the leftover jambalaya and told me it was the best I'd ever made as well. The only difference was the rice. It's noticeably better quality rice than what I'm getting at the grocery store. You won't be disappointed with this rice. We absolutely love it and it will be a staple in my pantry.10+ stars on this rice for sure.I hope this helps you.
