Works so well!
While I've thought about solar systems for particular purposes, I've never actually done anything with those thoughts until now. We have a garage which has an attic that over heats in the 100 plus weather we've had recently, so I wanted a solution. After researching thoroughly on Amazon I decided on Amtrak 50-watt solar attic solution. While the system came with some instructions I needed more assistance with proper wiring. I called the vendor and was amazed that someone (an actual person) answered the phone. He stayed with me the entire time while I followed his step-by-step instructions. It now works very well. The garage is much cooler with the exhause fan. Thanks so much.

Instructions are garbage, but fan works well
The instructions were useless. The wire connectors don't make good contact, so we straight wired the panel to the fan. When we first tried it, we had the small strip of cardboard still on the panel, as we were moving it around, and we couldn't get it to run. We thought there was a problem, but turns out even just that little bit of shade on the panel was enough to not allow it to start. Took it off and the fan ran fine. It is small, quiet and runs well. Very happy with it.

50 watt panel puts out 18 volts under a November sun.
Panel seems ok. Fan is a little off center and has a slight wobble. Took a good bit of sun to get the panel production of volts or watts to get the fan started spinning. That was going directly from panel to fan, or about 16 inches of wire. Couldn't get the fan to spin using the wire and switch provided. Will try again, one day. For now the switch will go unused til I figure it out. Once the fan gets going it can move some air.

Great fan for ventilating garage!
This fan replaced an old, existing unit (larger) that had been mounted in a garage loft backin the 1970's- and was never wired in! Between the rodent activity and corrosion, it was inneed of a sensible replacement. The Amtrak Fan required my building a panel for adaptingthe difference in size (smaller). But later w/the fan mounted on the panel, and mounted securelyin place,it was simple to run the wiring/switch.The Panel was very simple to install on the roofas well, the basic thing in all is not rushing the job.The speed varies on the amount of sunlight but even in lower light conditions, it still pulls air! So far it has worked perfectly, and I have already recommendedthis fan to several friends and customers at my place of business. Good Product at a fair price!

Great Customer Service and Product
I was missing a part and the panel was not the right size. I contacted the seller and they responded right away. They sent me the missing part along with some brackets to use to compensate for the difference in dimension of the panel. It all looks great and everything seems to work as they advertised. They went out of the way to send me everything I needed to set this up and they did it quickly. I received everything including the extra parts faster than expected. Great place to do business with. Thanks

Not moving much air
I had high hopes for this but it fell flat. Fan doesn't really move much air and is pretty small compared to fan I had before on my last house that I bought from HD. The large solar panel is overkill for this tiny fan. I live in FL on the water so we get a good breeze thru the attic much of the time. I feel this fan barely does anything. Once we put it in and found out it wasn't that great it was too late, to box it up and send it back was going to be too much of a hassle so we left it up there. Will possibly be looking for a better one to put on the other side of the attic. For as small and little air this moves in the attic , I would advice against purchasing.

It Does Alright
Bought a house with two small gable vents and NO other ventilation (seriously people - let your roof breath!) so I picked this up to at least get some air movement while I was cutting in soffits and then attempting to insulate. For a roughly 900 sq ft attic, it was circulating the air in about half of it decently enough as long as the sun was out. I almost bought another one to put on the other side, but we just got a new roof with solar (and a ridge vent) instead.I ended up moving this to my 120 sq foot shed and love it. It keeps the shed tolerable even in 90 degree heat instead of me having to open the door and wait a couple of minutes to go inside. Highly recommend this to get at least some air flow moving in enclosed (but still ventilated) spaces without needing to run a circuit.
