Machine has design flaws that are a constant problem.
Thread tangles by the bobbin and can't be untangled without removing the bobbin and often removing the entire bobbin apparatus. Spool to load the bobbin is located next to the clutch and loose thread wraps itself around the clutch inside the machine and stops the machine from working. Revs in idle but won't activate the needle to move up and down. A serious disappointment. The worst machine I have ever owned.

Solid machine, more like older machines than fancy new ones.
This sewing machine is a solid workhorse that reminds me of the machines that I learned to sew on. If you want frills than this machine is not for you. It lacks a lot of the fancy features that a lot of other machines have; dozens of stitches, automatic thread cutter, digital display, etc. I actually chose this machine because it lacked those things as in my experience the more frills a machine has the more problems you will have to deal with. For people like me who mostly do basic-ish garment sewing, in other words only use 3 or 4 stitches out of the 14 available on this machine, it has everything you would need.It has a solid body that is mostly metal. If you plan on hauling your machine around to classes or meets, this may be a bit heavy for some. I don't really mind the weight. It definitely stays put on the table. The controls being manual and simple are easy to use, and I have had no problems so far after almost 2 years. The light is nice and bright. The foot pedal is lovely. It's not tiny, and allows good control of speed. The bobbin winder is amazing. It works really really well. Threading this machine is pretty easy, especially compared to many other modern machines. Anyone who learned to sew on machines from the 70's into the early 90's will feel right at home with this sewing machine. I sure did.The only negatives, and they are all things I can live with, are 1. I wish that there were more length settings. 2. A top loading bobbin would have been nice 3. I wish there were a bit more space between the foot and the plate.Overall, it is a great machine. It is not the cheapest machine out there, and some might be tempted to write it off based on a list of features other machines offer, but this machine is a great value for the price. It is a machine made to last.

Didn’t work
I received this machine in the box and took it out. It didn’t work and the wheel that you can turn to make the needle go up and down was locked up. I took it to a sewing center and have to pay an additional $170 to get it fixed. I wouldn’t suggest buying from this seller.
