The right tool for the right job
Little rough around the edges, but otherwise classic Marshalltown. In other words, the best you can get.

Firebrick Mason's Trowel
This is the preferred trowel shape for many firebrick masons. The conventional way to achieve it is by cutting down a standard trowel, which leaves you with a plate-steel like tool. This, however, is a great trowel with great feel, weight, flex, and balance without ANY modification. I have had many wooden-handled 57's but decided to try the plastic finally... and I love it. It is more forgiving about the corrosive products and being soaked in the water bucket. This is a great trowel for a real firebrick mason. Also, I really enjoy that there is a hiding place in the handle if you learn you can remove the plug at the end, perfect for headlight batteries and great for that lunchtime walk out behind the cooling towers.

Marshalltown makes the best tile tools period
Marshalltown makes the best tile tools period. Made in the USA and high quality. I use this every day on large format tile. Great for scooping thinset out the bucket, cleaning out joints, or lifting up tile to add or remove thin set.
