Latest Epson printer firmware update caused the printer cartridges to be invalid. I reached out to SmartInk and they immediately sent me newer version of the cartridges zero cost, it worked perfectly without any issues. Thank you!!!

I ordered my ink cartridges a long time ago, and just opened them today. I had an error message that the cartridge was not recognized. I contacted Anna with the chat option on the website. She asked no questions except to know what the message was on the printer. Once I told her, she said she would replace them because there was an update to the software. She is sending those and I will have them in 2 days. I just assumed I had lost my money, but I am pleasantly surprised!!

These cartridges were very affordable and worked perfectly until...I stupidly allowed my Epson WF-4830 printer to upgrade its firmware and now the printer won't recognize the cartridges. By all accounts, this firmware update is a deliberate move by Epson to force consumers to buy Epson cartridges (I'd rather do business with Smart Ink).My excellent Smart Ink cartridges still have plenty of ink left; I just can't use them now.Epson claims the firmware upgrade cannot be reversed.

Epson kept pushing me to update the firmware on my WF-3820 printer, and finally I did. This rendered my printer non-functional, as it would no longer recognize my SmartInk cartridges. I spent way too much time trying to find a solution via Epson customer service, only to be left frustrated, and told my only option is to buy genuine Epson ink cartridges.Then I found the installation sheet for the SmartInk cartridges, and the smartink.pro live chat link. I "spoke" with Robert who immediately recognized the issue and offered to send me a new order, with updated chips that will work with the firmware upgrade I (mistakenly) made. I didn't even have to ask once, for anything. Robert just did what he knew would make all my printer woes go away. Thank you so much Robert. Best customer service ever! I have no reason to buy ink from any other company than SmartInk. You've earned my patronage.Ignore firmware updates if your printer is working properly as is. It's a way for manufacturers to get you to buy their ink, even if you have to waste what you already purchased.

Worked instantly and my Epson went through the firmware updates on original ink cartridges. I read that you shouldn't do a firmware update after installing these puppies, so I plan to avoid it.

Les cartouches d'encre ne seront plus reconnues après quelques mois. C'est décevant payer un ensemble de cartouches neuves, l'utiliser 2-3 mois, consommer le 1/4 de ces catouches pour qu'elles ne soient plus reconnues et fonctionelles. Finalement, on doit acheter les cartouches du fabricant.
