Faulty on receipt
The monitor arrived on time but unfortunately, after assembling and installing it did not work. Could not get into the OSD menu, all it would do when using any of the buttons was scroll through the input select window. Checked if I was doing something wrong or had locked the controls but found a few others that had similar issues. Returned it for credit.

Excellent monitor for photo and video editing
Purchased this to pair with a MacBook Pro when it came time to replace my ageing 5k iMac. Whilst not as sharp as that retina screen the colour accuracy and usability of the screen have been excellent. I plug my MacBook straight into the screen via USB-C, which provides enough power for heavy use and provides pass-through for a handful of peripherals plugged into the monitor. The transfer speed of devices plugged into the monitor is fairly good, but I still plug hard drives and memory cards directly into the laptop for better speeds and to reduce the risk of file corruption or loss of connection.Colour accuracy has been great from the box and will be a great step up for most people, but I would also recommend using a colour calibration tool for paid work.

Brilliant monitor if you don't need 4K, forget the speakers
Most of my screen time is spent in Firefox, Outlook and Word. I was concerned that changing to a 4K monitor would mean text that was too small to work with. The ASUS PA278CV monitor seemed to be a suitable. In fact, it's brilliant! Clear text, great definition, colours and connectivity, versatile stand and, a reasonable cost (Amazon) compared to 4K. I was also concerned that moving to a 27" from a 22" would be overkill for my small computer desk, but it's a perfect fit. I have reduced peripheral vsion on the right-hand side (hemianopia) but the width of the screen encourages me to scan to the right; a positive attribute that I hadn't expected. Downside? Speakers are quiet and fogetable apart from Windows system sounds. The supplied instructions use pictograms that are not the most informative. Written instructions can be downloaded at ASUS Download UK, and are almost essential. With those instructions I found two more USB-A ports on the side of the monitor. At the moment I'm using HDMI input, but I will be trying DP. The USB-C connection to a Samsung S8 tablet, automatically changed the tablet to DX mode and, the ASUS monitor produced a great version of the tablet screen. My Windows 10 set up with an ancient graphics card was happy to switch to 75Hz refresh, but the 11th gen Core i5 running Windows 11 in Intel UHD graphics will only run 64Hz. Neither computer will run HDR. I need to try the USB-C input as a KVM. There is also a free 3 month download of Adobe Creative Cloud to try.In summary, I couldn't be happier and, it looks good with the nearby ASUS ET12 router.Update 1 September 2024As with all of my ASUS kit, it has performed faultlessly. I'm a stroke lived-experience person for several Universities and the Stroke Association, and that means 90 minute Zoom or Teams sessions using separate speakers and a webcam. Additionally, DESNZ webinars on Net Zero. The height adjustment is superb for that, and again, I never have dry eyes or eye strain at the end of those sessions, although I am certified as sight impaired.

Disappointed – Multiple Dead/Stuck Pixels After Just 6 Months
I purchased the ASUS ProArt PA278QV in October, drawn by its promise of professional-grade color accuracy and quality. Unfortunately, after just 6 months of normal use, the display developed multiple dead and stuck pixels—some clearly visible in the central area of the screen. For a monitor marketed to professionals, especially for color-critical work, this is simply unacceptable. This isn’t a minor defect—these pixel issues are distracting and degrade the entire experience. I expected far better from ASUS, especially at this price point. Even worse, this model boasts factory calibration and is supposed to be covered by a solid warranty, but navigating ASUS support has been frustrating and slow. This appears to be a recurring problem with ASUS ProArt monitors, as others have reported similar issues, especially with units purchased on Amazon. I cannot recommend this product to anyone relying on display precision or long-term durability. If you’re looking for a reliable professional monitor, I suggest exploring alternatives. I regret this purchase.

The best monitor I've purchased
I'm a graphic designer. I value colour accuracy and screen real estate. This gives me both of those things. I love the fact that this is slightly taller than most monitors. It might not seen like much, but that extra inch of height just helps things feel so much bigger. The monitor is height adjustable too, which is better for my eyeline. The only small downside to this monitor is that there's a noticable backlight in the four corners. Even on solid black screens. This makes looking at anything with a dark background a little annoying because it'll always be shown with a subtle white glow. It's not ideal for things like watching things full screen, but it's super bright in other situations where you need brightness.Well worth buying one overall.
