Must Have for HR Professionals
HR Analytics Essentials is a must read for every Human Resource professional and this book itself is a must have resource in every Human Resource’s toolbox. Dr. Michael Walsh highlights how best to leverage data and analytics to address critical people-related questions and hiring formulas. The book covers an enormous amount of ground in a condensed way, as well as referencing other places to find further information to expand upon what he delivers. This book is a great resource for all HR generalists and HR analytic professionals. Once people understand the basic analytic techniques, telling this story to different demographic audiences can bring the right candidates that fit into your organization. Easy read with plenty of references!

Thoughtfully written and helpful strategies
This book is a great combination of why and how - why HR Analytics are worth your attention, and how to do it...down to step-by-steps in Excel! Written in an approachable, helpful voice as well.

Can't speak to the contents yet- 'new' book arrived damaged
I purchased this book 'new' and it arrived wrapped in plastic with stains already under the plastic along the pages and the back page has a missing corner. Nothing I can't live with and ignore, but nonetheless disappointing. Pages are poorly printed and often at an angle rather than aligned to the page. This might be better as a digital download as it seems hastily printed and poorly designed for textbook format.

Ideology driven and lots of fluff
I bought this little handbook to go over some materials. Please note, I have two undergraduate degrees and I'm finishing up my graduate degree now. I've been working in HR for the past 5 years and I wanted a book explaining the essential functions of HR that I haven't dealt with yet like employment law and employee relations. OMG, when I saw a subtitle that included the work, "Slavery," I was done.People don't want ideology in a basic HR book. We just want to the different sections of HR, their functions, and maybe some commonplace procedures and strategies to perform them. I went based off of that college review saying how the students love this book but honestly, I don't see how these students learned anything from this book that they could find online for free. A lot of this stuff is common sense even if you don't have HR experience.
