SUPER Convenient and Reliable!
What's not to love about a MOTION-ACTIVATED, lighted makeup mirror!!!? I previously purchased the original Simplehuman Sensor Lighted mirror and LOVED it! Sadly, I knocked it over and broke it, and found no feasible way to replace the mirror, so I ordered this upgraded model. I LOVE the fact that you can control the amount of time that the light remains on (my older one did not have that option and constantly turned off, forcing me to wave my hand to turn it bak on during makeup application). The downside of this upgraded feature is that you have to charge it much more frequently; I just leave mine plugged in continuously, and ever worry about the charge depleting. The other difference between this one and the original, is that this one is taller and does not adjust the same way the orig. did. My orig. unit sat on a shelf, and when I replaced it with the new one, it was too tall, and would not angle down (point down) as much, so I had to adjust the shelf. The removable magnifying mirror is nice, but only "sticks" to the middle of the mirror, which is not optimal for MY needs. I dropped mine and broke it, but simply replaced it with a small suction-cup magnifying mirror that I place at the bottom portion of the mirror front, which I actually like much better. The app is easy to use and allows you to set the the shade of the light (day/night/etc), as well as the amount of time you would like the light to remain on, once activated. The sensitivity level of the light activation feature is perfect; not too sensitive and not too hard to activate. It is even convenient to use as a short-term "night light" by simply waving your hand in front of the mirror/sensor as you enter a dark bathroom. Simplehuman provides a great product with easy-to-use instructions, and most importantly....a reliable product! All in all this is a superb product, with a perfectly-sized mirror and I love it!

Great mirror
I use the mirror to apply make up. The little mirror that is magnified is great. Follow instructions for charging and the mirror while last forever. I have a mirror without magnifying mirror for over 10 years and still works but decided to upgrade .

Edit: Failed after a couple years.
UPDATE: This mirror worked great for a couple of years, then began to act flaky. It would stay on or fail to turn on until it was reset. Now it’s unusable. Do not recommend.—-original review—-It chews through a charge faster than claimed, but it's nicely made, looks great, and responds well to user input - meaning it lights up when you get in front of it and it does so in a smart way. Few "false" alarms and almost never goes out while using. In other words, the tech disappears and it just works. The trouble begins if you want to adjust any settings or change colors. It can only be linked to ONE device for control. You can install the app on as many devices as you like, but it will only work on one of them. To get it to work on a different device requires unlinking it from your account and resetting to factory, then going through the entire installation process all over again. It's simply too time consuming and complicated to switch control between different devices.

A Very Luxurious Makeup Mirror
I drooled over this makeup mirror for a long time before I pulled the trigger. I did all of my research, read every review and spent time comparing different models and their features. That all said, I really like my choice. I just don't love it.The biggest selling feature on this (the most expensive Simple Human) modelfor me was the smaller magnetic mirror that clips on the front and is neatly hidden in the back when not in use. I thought that was so clever and an ideal solution for me who is bordering obsessive about my eyebrows and closing in on 40 with dwindling close up vision. And it is clever and well executed, however I feel it is somewhat unnecessary. I can see what I need very clearly in the main mirror. Perhaps as time goes on I will find that feature more valuable.I enjoy the senor that turns the mirror on and off for me as soon as I either sit down or get up. I don't feel it's a terribly important feature, yet it's luxurious. I also really appreciate how the mirror tilts up to any angle. Lastly, I really adore that I charge it for awhile and then the makeup mirror is good for a month. As a person that despises cords snaking all around my space, I am very fond of this very efficient feature. All in all, as I said I really do like this mirror. It has everything I could ever ask for in a make up mirror. And I felt extremely comfortable spending this relatively large amount of money on it, as I know and trust Simple Human as a company that is extremely customer service oriented & always stands behind their genius high quality products. Also, I'm sure once I finally get online and play around with the app it will only enhance my experience even further. That all being said, in the end after all of my research, I figured the newest top mirror was only about $50 more than the older ones with less features. I used the logic that if I was going to spend $200 on a makeup mirror I might as well spend $250 and be sure that I have every possible thing I could want. I'm not sure if I needed to. Yet I'm glad I'm in this position as opposed to "Ugh, why didn't I just spend that last $50 to get exactly the one I wanted!!".
