High quality 24K gold, makes awesome drinks
I used Barnabas Gold flakes (both in the bottle and the sheets) for gold martinis for my Oscar party. The product and the vendor are awesome. They were very nice to answer any questions I had regarding making ice cubes and martinis with the gold and even tested it for me.I used the gold in three ways:1. free floating flakes (the easiest way to do this is to use their sheet in a bottle and follow their directions with by mixing a little alcohol with water in their provided small bottle, shake, then put into drink.) If you have your own small bottle you can buy more of their sheets insert a sheet, and follow same directions. But if this is your first time mixing gold in drinks I would just buy their bottle, all ready to go. Their one sheet bottle for a 1 liter alcohol bottle or martini pitcher.2. Ice cubes: I used both large sphere ice cubes with gold (but you need a lot more gold to do these large drink ice cubes) plus the small ice cube trays. For the latter, fill it up halfway, freeze, then insert gold, then mix in rest of water. That way gold stays in cube vs. just floating to the top. You can make the ice cubes, half water, half alcohol but alcohol does not freeze in a regular freezer (the alcohol did freeze for me as I mixed it with water.)3. I put one small "gold" ice cube in each drink and large sphere ice cubes with gold in it in a clear martini pitcher, offering people a choice of stirred martinis or shaken martinis. Also had gold flakes in the martini shaker so they poured out beautifully into the drink when shaken. One recommendation to work with it:1. gold flakes easily: if you use the bottle and mix in alcohol/water, its easy, just shake and put in your larger drink container2. if you buy the sheets, use at tweezer to gently pick off gold. But if your tweezer gets wet and then sheet gets wet then the gold becomes stuck to sheet. So use a tweezer but keep it dry. I found the combination of a tweezer and a chopstick worked best.Everyone was awed by these gold martinis. I attached some pictures of the drinks and ice cubes with the gold. The gold is completely edible, does not taste like anything and gives your drinks that special wow factor. This is a very high quality product: it is real 24 gold I have had some leftover in the bottle, a week has gone by and it has not tarnished, disintegrated or discolored. It looks the same as when I first mixed it. This is REAL 24K gold.I highly recommend this 24K gold. High quality product. Next year plan to buy more gold and get even more creative with it.

Large flakes and exactly what you paid for
The listing specifically said 30mg, so I’m not sure why people are complaining it’s much smaller than expected. It’s important to note that this is ~24k gold that’s intended to be used for culinary purposes. Pure gold is chemically inert and nontoxic, which makes it safe to consume. It’s going to be fairly expensive to use this for arts and crafts. It is fairly expensive though considering 30mg of 24k gold is truly just $2 at market price… but given processing costs for the flakes and the quality (look how big the flakes are! I was so scared it would come in as confetti), this isn’t completely unreasonable.

Quality product - great big flakes - Loved it
My first time using real gold leaf or leafing of any kind. I loved this product and it had big flakes to work with. People should take head as to what they use to stick it on with and seal it. I found modgepodge worked well while wet to put this on bc there’s one they sell at hobby lobby and it just stayed tacky forever and the leafing came off even when sealed so that method just isn’t for me. Modgepodge while wet out this on and then let dry about 30 min then add the leafing sealer that hobby lobby sells it’s like a gloss finish . Not everything works for everyone just wanted to share what works for me.These flakes are dainty and lovely and a little adds a super lovely aura and whimsical touch to anything . I really enjoyed working with it. Oh and be careful to not work under a fan with it ! I really take care of it and save every bit. I was so happy it came with wooden tweezers not static problem. Great experience and came extremely fast with no issues at all. Thank you so so much for a lovely product . (I couldn’t find it anywhere where I lived!) highly recommend !! Can’t say it enough :)

Beautiful product
It was not a full jar... it wasn’t packed like you’d expect a jar of sprinkles to be packed, but there were a lot of similar reviews addressing this. Don’t know if this is normal or not as this is the first time I’ve ever purchased gold leaf flakes. It was very beautiful though. I was decorating chocolate covered treats (I decorated about 4 dozen Oreos and still have more than half left) and I recommend using the tweezers and applying onto a wet/semi dry surface. If it’s dry it won’t really stick. It’s also very thin, but surprisingly it takes a lot of effort to tear into smaller pieces.

First Time User
I had never used edible gold on anything I baked, but wanted to do something special for my wife for Valentine’s Day. These gold flakes fit the bill. They are easy to use and place, but static does make them a little tricky. The included bamboo tongs really help. Think ahead, then place the flakes. Don’t mess with them too much. Like I said they are easy but will fold up on themselves if handles too much. They do look great though! Wife loved it all by the way! Bonus!
