Good bike rack.. made it better.. here's how
Just used this rack to take two e-bikes out camping. Perfect for larger tire bikes. Center pipe folds down, but with hooks on it make it a poor design as you cannot remove them and it is in the way to load bikes. Simple fix.. I drilled out the rivet that keeps you from removing the hooks. Now I remove the hooks, drop the pipe, load back bike, raise the pipe, put the long hook on, set the second bike, put on the small hook, tighten it all and you're done. It may void the warranty, but this eliminates a poor design and makes this bike rack THE BEST. I bought the more expensive version thinking I needed the tilting design to load the back bike, but with my fix I could have bought the less expensive one. Great rack, very sturdy and with a slight design improvement the easiest loading rack I have had.

This one's a WIN!
I always scroll through reviews before I purchase an item - and rarley give a review but I'm speaking up on this one. Easy set up. Hitch mount gets an excellent design from my husband (and believe me - that doesn't come easy). Our e-bikes are heavy (65-70 lbs each) and I didn't feel them hanging off the back like I had with our old rack. We did add a ratchet strap as I was traveling almost 800 miles one way and everything stayed tight and secure. The tilt feature allowed me easy access to the rear of our SUV without having to unhitch the entire rack. I was able to reload them for the return trip feeling safe and secure. Reasonably priced compared to most, it sounded too good to be true but this one is definitely a WIN !

Wiggle
Great product. Looks very firm. the hitch tightener works great. However, the other connecting bolts when assembled makes the product wiggle. Not bad but my previews rack doesn't move. I have to insert my own washers to make them a bit firm.

Great rack
Great bike rack. Easy to assemble, very sturdy and overall, a well built rack for electric bikes. Price point is VERY reasonable. Now I can access a variety of new places and terrain transporting my bike to new scenery. I hope to use it for many years to come.

Sturdy bike rack
This Rack is sturdy, it hauls my electric fat tire bike with no problem. It was easy to put together. However has some problems.1. It has a single knob that tights down the bike hook that holds your bike on the rack. This slides up and down on the bar standing upright for adjustment. However it slides while very tight and almost lost a $4,000 dollar bike if it wasn’t for the safety strap I put on.The hook has a very flimsy cushion to protect the bike well it wore through and scratched my bike, so much for protecting it.I will have to put a better cushion on the hook and drill a hole through the bracket and put in a removable pin so it can’t slide up.The rack folds up nicely and holds my 4.5” fat tire very well.

1500 Miles and Working Great
I have had it now for 6 months and about 1500 miles of transporting two 60# e-bikes and am very pleased. I use the anti-rattle pin and it holds the rack solidly in place. I bought a cheap ratchet wrench and socket which I store with the rack and I use it to tighten the bolt. Honestly, though, it is only needed for the last turn or so as I can run the bolt in 90% with my fingers. Some have complained about mounting the 34# rack in the receiver but I have no problem. I just leave it in the “folded up” position, grab it by the wheel supports and lift. The receiver tube sticks out horizontally and can be easily slid into the receiver. Trying to attach it in the folded-down position makes it much more difficult. When I purchased the rack I was concerned about reports of the bike frame clamps slipping and working their way up and allowing the bike to fall off. To date, this has been a non-issue as I have not had any clamp slip. I do make sure they are firmly tightened. But just for insurance I drilled holes above the clamped position and insert a padlock (see photos). Not only does this work as a fail-safe if the clamps would slip but also provides a method to secure the bikes from possible theft. It would be great if the bar came predrilled with a series of holes so a lock could easily be added. Our e-bikes are the step-through type so we needed to add crossbars to each bike (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ELSSZE) Normally these are used to hold the bike up but work just fine to hold it down. The racks hold down arms and then wraps over these rather than the frame.I will say loading 2 bikes requires some thought and experimentation to find the right positions and procedure. Because both frame hold downs are attached to the single pivoting arm things tend to get a little complex (hard to explain until you do it!). My answer was another minor modification. On the top side of the pivoting post there is a rivet inserted to prevent the arms from sliding completely off. I understand the idea but for me, it is a nuance. I simply drilled out the rivet and removed it.Now before I load the first bike I slide both arms completely off. With the pivoting arm setting flat, I position the first bike. I then move the pivoting arm up and slide the frame clamp down into position. The second bike is added and then the second frame clamp is added. When unloading the procedure is just reversed. It makes the process MUCH easier. But note – while removing the rivet makes absolutely no difference when the bikes are loaded, if no bikes are installed AND the rack is transported the clamps could work their way off and be lost. This can be prevented by just making sure the clamps are tightened as if they were holding the bikes.Another change I would like to see is to the anti-rattle bolt. If the end was not machined down as much it could accommodate a larger hole where the safety pin is inserted. Then a padlock could be installed in place of the pin allowing it to be locked to the vehicle.Still, I feel this is a nice bike rack for the price and I would not hesitate to buy it again if needed.
