Updated now that I tried to buy it again. When I purchased the first bag I was satisfied with the fast service and the product. At first when I received it I wondered if I would like it because the flakes are not as coarse as I thought they would be. I ordered coarse but they didn't look as coarse as I am used to buying. I usually buy at local Asian markets but those products are from china, not korea. I am very satisfied with the wonderful taste of the pepper flakes and although they are not as coarse as I am used to I can tell you after using the entire pound bag making about 6 different batches of kimchi over the months since I bought this gochugaru that I want to purchase it again but now it is no longer available. I am quite sure it is due to the current trade policy so I decided to grow my own. I have located the seed that is supposed to be the particular pepper that the korean people make the gochugaru from. I will grow this summer and then dry in the fall, then process the dried peppers to make the pepper flakes for the kimchi I enjoy. In the meantime I will go to local Asian markets to see what they have in stock.

Very high quality product. The mak kimchi I made turned out so good and authentic. The flavor was on par with the best kimchi's I've had. Spice level is medium. Worth every penny I paid.

This is the only brand I use. Peppers are grown in Korea and sold from Korea. The flavor is fantastic!

It is definitely spicier than other red pepper flakes I’ve used. If you’re used to super spicy this is for you, if not go with something less spicy.

Its one of the only brands that actually comes from Korea. Most are made in china these days.I use it for a few korean recipes, though i keep finding it more uses for it all the time. It went great in my last pot of chili and added a good sweet flavor without too much heat.

I was so happy to find this product from Amazon. It is very hard to find Korean red chili pepper flakes made with peppers cultivated in Korea. Prices are higher but worth it. Amazon's price is very competitive and fast shipping is a plus.

I've used 5 other brands (4 produced in S.Korea, in the same price range per weight, and 1 produced in China, which was much cheaper). So far, this one has the best taste compared to them: hot, tingling, mouth watering smell, great red color. I'll buy again.
