classic work knife, still love after a year in the field.
Excellent practical knife. Finishing is better than the price would indicate. Excellent walk and talk, comes properly sharp. My example has excellent lock up and scales, back spring, and blade are perfect in the open position with the spring a thick hair low in the closed position. As noted by others the nail nick is a tad rough and the brass liners are slightly rough. That is to be expected at this price point. Overall great knife that you don't have to baby or worry about losing in the field. Lanyard hole is a nice touch. One year update- This is my go to work knife. I put it through lots of taped cardboard and plastic in the course of a week. Have touched up the edge once or twice with stones and a few times with a honing steel. This knife continues to impress. Excellent steel and well worth your 5 minutes polishing up the liners. And at this price drops and dings just do not matter. Highly recommend!

Just a knife.
I like Rough Rider knives! This one ,the denim micarta, is well constructed ,very well. It has a threaded steel bolster. It is bareheaded with a fully swedged blade with a flat ground edge. The nail nick is almost nonexistent. It will be a serviceable knife for many years. My gripe is that like 99% of R.R. knives there is no finishing touch before shipping. This knife more than other models is ,or was, rough. There were brass splinters coming from the liners! It took 30 mins. At the buffing wheel and strop to make it presentable which it now is. As I said it is a good knife. A little work from those at the factory which their competitors do would have earned 5 stars and a better review.

Fine knife. Good Price.
I have a soft spot for traditional folding knives. And Wharncliffes.. This is both. It's also a good quality, super sharp, stainless slipjoint folder with a half stop and a Micarta handle. For 20 bucks (or at least that's around what I paid for it). This knife is at a sweet spot in terms of size. Any larger and it would start to need a clip and sort of cease to be "pocket friendly". I mean what else can I say.. I was skeptical of the Rough Rider brand but they really are well made for the money. I also bought a peanut for my wife and it, too is built to a high standard. For some folks, half stops are a must. I generally find them irritating and that may be my only gripe with this blade. The nail nicks are too sharp to put half stops in this blade. The blade starts to shift into the half stop and the nick twists and sometimes breaks the edge of my thumbnail. I thought I was imagining this so i tried it with my pointer finger and sure enough, after pulling the blade a few times, the edge of my fingernail would break. I may file or polish the edge of the nick a bit and that would solve the issue. The blade sticks out enough that I can just grab it most of the time without the nail nick. A slight thumb cutout on one scale would improve this . Oh, and I could do without it being stainless. I greatly prefer sharpening carbon steel, but that's just personal preference. Overall this knife will be a great work knife and would delight any wood worker.

Great budget slipjoint
This is a great budget slip joint. Lockup is solid. It has a half stop. I've had this knife for about a year, and I've dropped it while fishing, working, or whatever and it's still going strong. I like it!

Could have loved it but
The handle was great so was the detent but the blade wobble and terrible steel was a deal breaker

Nice looking knife
Very nice looking knife, blade is sharp with even honing. The handle is micarta, and polished with a shine. For 15 bucks a decent alternative to spending 80 plus dollars for a case pocket knife. Very happy with the purchase and RR knives.
