This is a much better size for our German Shepherd than our previous flap but the only issue we have is the lock slides down the length of the opening but if your door like ours has a brace, half way it can't be locked. The door needs to be completely flat all fhe as down, it would be great if the manufacturer could work a way of fitting the lock slide a different way. Other than that easy to fit and looks good.

The product does not work in a door panel. The locking door will not go past the midrail. Also the screws rounded off. For the price this is not what was expected.

I put this large deluxe aluminum white dog door in yesterday. It's made by Hakuna Pets. It was easy to install, following the instructions. I have 3 dogs, beagle mix 21 pounds, pitty 62 pounds, and a hound mix 82 pounds. They all fit perfectly. They're already accustomed to using dog doors, so it's not a problem. I love the slide closure instead of the pop on closure, which was 1 of the reasons I bought this one. I would definitely recommend.

Do not waste your money on the plastic framed doors that you may be considering buying right now. This aluminum frame is robust, and will stand the test of time. I just bought this to replace a one year old plastic framed dog door that is now broken and badly discolored from the sun. I vowed I would never again spend two days looking for the right size and installing a new plastic soon-to-be piece of garbage in my pool cage. Yes, I had to modify the opening to get the right size so this would fit, but I'm fairly confident I won't be doing it again for many years to come. Plus, this Hakuna pet door is truly designed for minimum thickness applications, which I needed for the sheet aluminum kick plate in my pool cage installation. Note I'm just using it as an anti mosquito flap, so I really can't speak to how it may serve your home, keeping weather out and conditioned air in, but I do know it's not gonna easily break and leave a gaping hole where a flap should be.
