Dead battery GOOD COMPANY
It didn't work after I installed it correctly. Spent 30 minutes trying to reprogram it with no avail. Finally, I checked the battery. The 12 volt battery only had 6.2 volts. Fortunately I had a replacement battery or it would have meant a trip to the store. It works fine now. They need better quality control. AFTER WRITING THIS REVIEW THE COMPANY REFUNDED $7 TO COMPENSATE FOR MY INCONVENIENCE. GREAT COMPANY, I WILL GO OUT OF MY WAY TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Bad Connection- Great Customer Service
The media could not be loaded. Easy install and small enough unit it will fit in most fixtures. The issue I had and what seems like many people had was the connection. Many people seemed to have issues turning it on. I had issues turning it off myself. I had to mount my switch upside down. It flat out refused to turn off when I mounted it right side up. I managed a marginally higher success rate by holding the switch instead of pressing it a few dozen times. If you’re dead set on an item like this I would only recommend it in a room with little use so you don’t frustrate yourself everyday. This was an initial review of the product and I have not been using it very long. If it gets better or worse I will update my review but as of now I feel like this item was not worth the trouble. I would have rather paid $50 for a version that was more robust in feeling, cleaner looking, slimmer on the switch portion, and had a 90% success rate in the operation. Lastly, a version that uses a AAA battery would be much better. Not many people stock the weird type that is in this switch (the code is escaping me at the moment), this makes it frustrating when the battery dies because I will likely have to go to the store not the closet.UPDATEThe seller reached out to me, they believed the item demonstrated in the video was faulty. They sent me a new one completely free of charge. I wired it up and had the same result. They told me it works best if there is a direct line of sight from the switch to the box, things like metal impede the signal greatly. So I moved the box outside of the fixture and I had much better results. However, it looks unsightly and I will be placing the box back in the fixture. Overall decent product for the price especially if you are willing to mount it in a line of sight. It is also worth mentioning I used the old switch for over a week with low to moderate use and never had any issues with the signal connection being lost it always turned on right away and had the slight issue turning off.

Worked exactly as described.
Installed today so don't know how well this product does in the long term. However, in the short term... The switch was covered in the box so it would not get scratched by other pieces in the box. Was easy to install. Just make sure you know which are the hot and neutral wires when connecting this device to power. Only one complaint--instructions did not say what size drill bit was needed to install anchors in sheet rock. I used anchors that I already had and knew the size drill bit needed.

It does require electrical work inside the ceiling light box
This took significantly more installation than I expected, but the result is great. I disconnected the original wall switch wiring at both ends. A wireless switch was then installed on the original wall switch box (easy) and I have three additional wireless switches, also programmed to operate this same ceiling light. The ceiling light box was small and considerable effort was required to re-arrange the existing wiring within the box so the new receiver module could fit in there and still allow the LED and programming button to be accessible. This button needs to be pressed to cause the LED to flash and then the wireless switch needs to be activated to program the receiver for that new wireless switch. This needs to be repeated again for each new wireless switch to become active. When all wireless switches can turn the light on and off, then the light fixture can be mounted, covering access to this programming button and LED on the receiver. The manual could be improved here. The installation of the receiver for these switches DOES REQUIRE wiring within the electrical box in the ceiling and the original light switch box. Anyone not experienced in doing this electrical work should seek professional help for this installation. I'm a retired Electrical Engineer and licensed electrician, so I was comfortable doing it. Also, the colors of the receiver wiring are not per the USA Electrical Code, so read the manual Red and Blue are the power inputs to this receiver. Black and white go to the light fixture. This is backwards from the National Electric Code, but follow the Surialec Manual and DO NOT hook it up backwards. This light is the ceiling light of my photo/video studio and I frequently need to turn this light off when it will affect the photography lighting, then back on when no longer taking photos or videos. A wireless switch is now located in the original wall switch position, plus one at each camera. Nobody needs to find the wall switch in the dark after the photo shoot any more.

Switch works intermittently
I bought 4 of these with the goal of being able to remotely operate four fixtures. I installed the first, and found it worked intermittently. It could turn the light on and off, much of the time, but often required multiple attempts. Occasionally, it would not operate at all. Since I intended to install four switches, I decided to try a second one, and maybe it would work perfectly. But it worked more or less like the first switch. Operations succeeded intermittently, but failures were not identical to the failures of the first switch. Then I looked at the reviews more carefully. Reviews ranking the product from 1 to 3 stars almost always cited the intermittent behavior. This convinced me that the product design was inherently at fault. I returned all four switches, including two remaining that I not bothered to open and test. I wanted remote switches that worked perfectly. Intermittent behavior is not acceptable. My recommendation is to avoid this product until a new product replaces this one, and the new product corrects the intermittent failures of the present product.
