Pens
I work in a restaurant and pens disappear daily. I love how smooth they write

Smooth and low tech
I really like these pens. They write similarly to my favorite Bic pens, the Cristal stick pen with the clear plastic body. I prefer a ballpoint that just has the removable cap and over the retractable click pens which have parts that stop working (more on that in a moment). All of these pens worked out of the box right away without me having to scribble circles for a few seconds. The plastic feels good in hand and like any other plastic pen there is no indication that the material is impregnated with something (in this case Prevaguard). So, it's comfortable to hold and it writes smoothly and evenly.Of course the big selling point with these pens is the Prevaguard in the plastic body of the pen. I can see why that might appeal if you have shared office supplies or are using them in very busy public places. I'm thinking cafés and such that have a pen tethered to the register, just to help keep things a little cleaner. It says plainly on the box that the Prevaguard does not PROTECT (caps mine) you from disease causing bacteria, viruses, or germs. Of course it doesn't-- it's a pen. It is suppressing bacterial growth on itself. That's all. Don't get mad if your ballpoint pen doesn't keep you from getting COVID. I am all about the Prevaguard because I throw pens in my messenger bag and they inevitable make their way to the bottom and eventually get damp because my water bottle leaked, then they get crumby because I shoved that half-eaten croissant in there, too, and by the time I need a pen I have to dig way down to the depths of my bag and my pens is kind of gross and mildewy. I would like to avoid that as much as possible while trying to not be such a slob with my bag. So for me, these pens are useful just because they are often in unsavory (or at least warm and moist) environments and I would like to, just once, pull a pen out of my bag that isn't completely nasty. So, A+ to Bic for the ease of smooth writing and an anticipated A+ for the suppression of weird crud growing on my pens. I wish they had made these years ago.

Nice, Affordable Option
These are very nice, well worked ballpoint pens! The ink is pretty solid, fresh and doesn’t have much skipping when used. They seem to last awhile without issues, and for $6.00 a dozen they’re a pretty affordable option if you need pens for an event. For me personally, it’ll make a quick and simple means of lending out pens without concern about them coming back to me.Now, just keep in mind for the PrevaGuard portion, it looks like some people are under the assumption that this means that the surface is protected from any bacteria transfer. Just wanted to note that this isn’t the case - in fact, as far as I’m aware there is no plastic material casing that would achieve such a feat. It’s stating, instead, that the casing is protecting the inner cartridge from bacteria, mildew, etc, meaning that the ink won’t degrade or the inside of the pen won’t become mildewed as easily. Which, is a very valid concern. But by all means, PrevaGuard pens are not going to protect you from illness.

"Stic" pen with anitmicrobial agent
I received a box of 12 Bic "PrevaGuard Round Stic" pens for review. "PrevaGuard" is Bic's trademarked name for products with an EPA-registered antimicrobial agent added to the plastic to suppress the growth of bacteria, molds, mildew and fungi, especially in high-moisture environments. Note that Bic does not make any claims about the process suppressing viruses like the one that causes COVID-19, and testing the antimicrobial effectiveness is obviously beyond the capabilities of a home user. But like most people, we have pens all over the house, and we like to keep PrevaGuard pens in high-moisture and potentially "germy" areas like bathrooms and the kitchen.Like other Bic Round Stic pens, the PrevaGuard pens are decently-performing and reliable ballpoint pens. These non-refillable pens appear to use the same ink cartridge as the classic Bic Crystal stick pens. Although you sometimes have to scribble a bit to get them started and ballpoint pens don't write as smoothly or as dark as gel or rollerball pens, Round Stic pens write fairly well with virtually no globs or smears, and ballpoint pens tend to last longer than gel or rollerball pens. At the current listed price of less than $6 for a dozen pens, these PrevaGuard pens are a good choice for a reliable ballpoint pen that may resist bacteria, mold, and fungi.

Typical ball-point Bic Pen with removable cap, writes well
These pens have some type of, "EPA Registered Anti-Microbial Agent" embedded in the plastic named, "PrevaGuard", however, I can't easily find any information as to what that particular agent is. So, first off, I wish it listed on the box, Bic site, someplace what that agent is.The pens, as they are, perform as expected. These pens are just like other ball-point Bic pens with a removable cap, the only difference being that they have, “PrevaGuard” molded into the plastic. These pens, the ink flowed right away, no scribbling around to get the ball rolling, and ink flowing. The shell of the pen is of a tough plastic, and the pocket-clip has some give to it, but it'll hold in place inside a shirt pocket, or similar. These pens perform as much as can be asked from them, and they’re ready to go out of the box!

Classic Black
As a notary, I am required to sign documents in black ink. You might be surprised how difficult it is to find a pen that writes in black. Almost all ordinary ballpoints are blue. These Bic Ballpoint Pens are exactly what I need. They write smoothly in black ink. The round barrel fits nicely into my hand. There is no fooling with push buttons, which can fail to work properly. These twelve Bic pens are low cost, dependable, and have high utility.
