Good Cook 8.5-Inch Serrated Chef's Knife

I've known about these knives for 20 years. Every knife I've tried to replace it with has been a failure comparatively. It's super fine serration cuts rather than saws through everything quite well. I have found that a pair of round ceramic stones will sharpen this! That's hard on the sharpener but worth it for the knife will only need sharpened once every couple years, if that!

The serrated edge is good and hard to find these days. The handle is thin and light. A beefier handle would make this an exceptional buy.

I bought this as an add-on item because my current chef's knife (looks like part of the J.A. Henckels International Fine Edge Pro 2-Piece Hollow Edge Santoku Set) has gotten more dull since I first bought it and long ago before then I had a serrated knife that had lasted a long while before eventually breaking and so I thought a new serrated knife would be a good upgrade. Well, it takes a lot more pressure to cut veggies with this brand new serrated knife reviewed here, than it does with my old dull one so I'm back to the old dull one again. Waste of money. Still 2 stars for this review instead of 1 star, because the knife is usable. Just not recommended.

This is a pretty horrible knife. It's asymmetrical which means it doesn't cut straight. In other words, as you cut into something with the knife (like a cucumber), it slides off to the right at an increasing angle as you press down.It's possible to somewhat compensate for this. But you'd be better off with literally any other knife lying around your house.

Cuts stuff real good

I have a pickle business and this knife is so dull that it will barely slice through hot butter much less a pickle. It’s not good for anything that I can think of. Going to throw away.

Good Cook knife looks shiny and pretty but I have other knives in my kitchen that I bought from 99 cents stores that are sharper than this Chinese made knife. I have a good knife sharpener, I am sure that if I sharpen it will be up to par, but I may void my warranty, I may send it back.
