Can you mount this on a drill?

All these other people are incorrect, it'd be extremely easy to mount this in a drill by simply taking a partially threaded, 5/8"-11 hex head bolt and just cut the head off, then grab the unthreaded end which just had the hex head cut off with the drill chuck....no need for adapters and a standard partially threaded 5/8"-11 hex head bolt should cost less than $2....although the problem is that most drills top out at 2000RPM while an angle grinder usually reaches 13,000RPM, so that the speed (and not pressure) does the "work", but you could mount it in a drill press or a higher horse power die grinder with the homemade adapter.

Question 2

Will these be practical to remove glue residue from pulling up linoleum on concrete slab?

Yes, they will work.  If the glue is dry and hard, it works better, but they will even work on flexible glue.  I use these things for nearly everything.  I've tried other brands, but they fall apart right away.  These are worth the money and last 10 times longer than the others.  I just wish I could still buy them at Home Depot...they used to carry them.  I have to order them on-line now, so I order a bunch at a time and keep a few on my work truck.

Could i use this disk to strip factory paint off a mower deck?

I'm removing the original paint on a commercial cart, the same one you see at Home depot. The paint is really tough to remove down to metal, looks like I'm using up most of the woven pad. And this is before using hand scraper, needle scaler and hard disk grinder. However Norton is the fastest but most expensive - it's a trade off. Next time I'll try torching the paint off then follow up with a diamond grinder.

Do i need an adapter? i have a 4 1/2 angle grinder but once i screw this item on it, I cannot put the safety little disc from the grinder for safety

The person asking the question ISN'T asking about the safety shield that came with his grinder, he's referring to the threaded arbor/shaft washer/retainer that is threaded on the shaft and tightened with a spanner wrench to secure whatever disc he may be using, and he's saying that the grinder's shaft isn't long enough to have both the abrasive disc and the retaining nut/washer thread on following the abrasive disc.  To answer his queation: as long as your grinder has a standard 5/8"-11 threaded shaft (and not M14) whenever you use an abrasive disc with a 5/8"-11 female thread like this one, you don't need the retaining nut/washer because the disc is for all intents and purposes "self securing" since the grinder shaft is turning in the direction to tighten the threaded abrasive disc.  The only time that an abrasive disc with a female threading may unsecure itself is when you turn the grinder off and the momentum/inertia of the disc keeps it rotating while the shaft stops, when this happens, the disc MAY unread itself from the shaft and come off, but this is not a danger, just an inconvenience
