Great Solar Fence Charger
Nice system and easy to charge, setup, and use. I paired it with the Gallagher fenceline. Price is ok. The only drawback is that I bought to keept horses fenced in and the bite isn't very strong. Its great for goats and dogs, but horses kind of just ignore the zap. I do really like the style of it though and perhaps will buy the next size up.

Does the job against squirrels
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product in order to stop squirrels from jumping onto the roof of my house and causing damage. I knew nothing about using fence chargers, but did a little reading/youtube. I chose the S6 model versus the other S series because the S6 was the least expensive, less charging distance, less joules..etc. All I needed it for was for my backyard and in a small area. S6 was a perfect. Needed just enough jolt for squirrels / small animals. The solar power was a must-have which is why I chose Gallagher over other manufactures. Also has a good warranty and the company has a good reputation.I wired it to small pieces of chicken wire connected to my wooden fence. So, when the squirrels walk across the wooden fence line, they touch the chicken wire and get zapped. Works perfectly.I saw my first squirrel get zapped (flew four feet in the air).I connected it this way:1. A 1/2 inch / 4-foot rebar into the ground (was only $3.00 from Lowes).2. S6 connected/screwed to rebar.3. S6 ground wire connected to a small chicken wire piece.4. S6 positive connection (red) connected to a second piece of chicken wire.5. When the squirrel walks across the the wooden fence pickets, its paws touch both pieces of chicken wire and get zap.If you really want to test and see if the charger is working, you can touch the electrified areas, which I don't recommend. Or, you can do the "grass blade" test. Look on youtube and it will show you how to do it.Overall, I have had the S6 for two months now, and very happy with it. It sits directly in the sun. No issues so far.BTW: I bought this two months ago for $90.00 via Amazon, and now, it is up to $135.00. Wow!!Update: 12/1/23I am attaching a video I took of a squirrel getting the full brunt of the S6 0.06 Joules. In the video playback, it is running in slow motion because I slowed down the speed to 25% so that you can see the intergalactic trajectory path the squirrel takes when getting zapped. If you look carefully, you can see something fly out from its mouth (teeth or an acorn). The squirrels are starting to get smart now, whereas when they approach that corner, they always pause, and inspect it and crawl around it. But no need to worry folks because I have further surprises for them as they walk closer towards the house :)After two years of use, the S6 is still working perfectly. Love it. When this eventually breaks, I will upgrade to the S12 model.

Needs at least a couple hrs of direct sunlight to stay charged
I like thats it’s completely waterproof. It mounts directly in the ground rod (purchased separately)Works great but I don’t get enough direct sunlight to stay charged. Not the fault if the product, just be aware you will need to have at least a couple hrs of direct sunlight to stay working. Recommended

Works great!
Every year the deer would use our garden as a buffet; I saw this and figured it was worth a try; it has (knock on wood) kept the deer out of our garden. They will walk all around it ; but not go close. The other day when I turned it off; to work inside; one female deer kept getting closer , snorting at me; I told her a stern No and she kept pawing the ground, so I walked out and turned it on, she backed off and went back to eating the deer corn we put out for them. Another when I turned it off kept trying to lick the wire; when I told it no; it went off on its merry way! Seriously they know when it’s on and off! So far ; so good and it was easy to install and use! We put up two rungs to 3 of wire on plastic poles with hooks ; one low and one high. He use a piece of rabar I think it’s how it is spelled to ground it and mount the unit. We are able to electrify the gate with the wire pin thing that’s included; so they don’t try to go thru the gate.

Works Perfect
It works perfect so far, I inadvertently touched the wire with my arm and got a really good jolt! I used Aluminum Wire which is highly conductive and this has more than enough power for my fence. I highly recommend it! Plug in energizers are cheaper but this works even when the powers out and there's no risk to the homes electrical system should something short out. I did have to jerry rig the mount, I found a rod that was the same size as the channel but the way its designed it has to be on a much smaller flimsier rod, so I just taped a big metal bolt the my main rod and used that to make contact, it works no problem and the rod isn't going anywhere. I was surprised by the lack of options for mounting on a chainlink fence, the insulators that are available are either very expensive or low quality and none of them hold more than one line of wire, obviously on a chainlink fence you want four or five lines of wire on the top of your fence at least a foot over the top, but good luck finding anything.

Over priced. Not what I was expecting.
I thought this would come with a ground rod. Apparently not. The title leaves you to believe it does. I don't like having to figure out what kind of rod , how deep to put it in the ground etc. The instructions do not tell me. And now I have to buy a ground rod. What kind of rod?

Works for my needs.
Bought 1 to help stop my small weenier dog from digging under the fence. Worked perfectly for the 2 acre area. Just enough jolt to teach him the no-go area. In order to prevent deer from eating my fruit trees, I bought another 1 for some perimeter stand off. Keeps the deer away from the fruit trees now too. Thumbs up!
