Great scooter: good speed & range, better than competitors, good value
I have been meaning to write this review ever since I bought this, a bit more than a year ago.I have been using the scooter almost daily for commuting, and it has been very stable and trustworthy. Its combination of price, range, and max speed is almost unbeatable. I had previously bought a Segway Ninebot scooter with very good reviews for the same price, but max speed was lower AND the battery was very tight for my daily commute (8 miles). I returned it and bought this, and haven't regretted it for a day!Maybe the range for the full-speed option with some traffic light stops is closer to 10-11 miles, but you can extend that by running on the 2nd speed option, which is a bit slower but still quite fast (same as full speed of Ninebot). Just for reference, full-speed option is like a fast bike (you go past most bikes on the street), medium speed is like a medium bike (fast bikes go past you).I had one important mishap, that was however resolved swiftly and at no cost:a couple of months back, after a year of almost daily use, the scooter suddenly stopped working. Totally out of the blue, in a period where I was using it daily, one day it would only run for 50 meters, and run out of battery.I contacted support, and they were very responsive! They told me to send the scooter back, they sent me a UPS prepaid tag for it, and I received it back ~20 days later, fully functional, cleaned(!), and without extra charge!! They were really kind, and sent me several emails during that period, to make sure I had sent it, to tell me it has been sent back, to make sure I got it back, and to ask if I was happy with the fix. Simply great customer service!

Updated. Folding Hook Broke, but AMAZING scooter and great customer service!
I initially wrote a 1 star review to get the attention of customer service to replace the hook in my scooter that broke, after exchanging emails I receive the replacement for my scooter and it worked pretty well! Customer service was nice, they did ask for my amazon order number and details as well as pictures of broken part.On to the scooter review…!!This scooter has been an amazing purchase! I live in Savannah is a small town with plenty of bike lanes, this scooter has made my commute so much easier. Its smooth and easy to ride, my dad got a different brand and upon comparing them one of the benefits of this scooter is that you can set the speed range you want, if you are a beginner and you are scared of going too fast you can set it to 20miles per hour, and when you hit the accelerator it will go anywhere between 0-20 which is amazing for safety, you can go and set it to the max if you’d want. Easy to park and easy to take anywhere once is folded, I carry it inside and out my place all the time. Breaks and accelerator work smoothly and fine, I feel super safe on this scooter and it’s so much fun.If you live in a small town with the appropriate bike lanes and your thinking between a bike and this scooter. GET THIS SCOOTER, you wont regret it!!!

Won't power on with battery
Just got the scooter. It powers on when plugged in to the charger. Battery is full bars, 75 to 100%. As soon as it is unplugged, the power shuts off. No lights. No dashboard. No error message. It won't turn on. Reached out to Megawheels support for help and waiting for a reply.Build construction seems as described. No loose wires or parts. But without the motor and lights it is just a scooter.Update Jan 30, 2025Megawheels chat support led to a Hotmail email address. I wasnt confident the help would change the status of the scooter. Decided to return the scooter to Amazon inside the 30 day return window.

Solid entry level scooter, but get the 7.5ah
This is my first foray into the world of e-scooters. I wanted something not too expensive around the $300 mark, with decent speed and range. This scooter was just that on sale, and I opted for the 5.0ah version because it was a bit cheaper. Takes about 20 minutes to assemble out of the box, and mine came with 3/4 battery. At just under 200lbs, this scooter will reach the top advertised speed of 15.5mph (25kph) on the max speed setting, and even with a decent headwind only dropped to about 13mph. This doesn't sound too impressive if you're used to driving speeds, but for myself that's about equivalent to a full running sprint. On two small wheels, it feels pretty fast. Range is pretty good, but not the 9-12 miles as advertised. Might be a typo (either intentional or not), but the manual states 8-12km! range. I got just under 5 miles on my first range test, and that was with a almost full battery and I still had 1 battery bar left. That was also done almost exclusively on the top speed setting as well, so not too shabby. Overall, pretty satisfied with this unit so far. Build quality is pretty good. The solid tires are nice, as I don't ever have to fill them or worry about flats 3 miles form home, but you do feel every bump. One thing to note is make sure the metal rod that screws into the folding latch isn't too loose or tight. Too tight and it can't unlatch, too loose and a big bump will cause the handlebar to fold as the catch is jostled upwards which happened on my test run. However that was my fault and I don't blame the scooter's design for it, as I had loosened the rod earlier. Lights work, but not incredibly bright. Good for being seen at night, not so much for 'seeing' anything yourself. The screen is very, very bright; almost bothersome at night but not a huge deal. Easy enough fix with a piece of tape over it to diffuse the light if necessary. Acceleration is okay, not too slow or fast. Takes about 5 seconds to get to max speed (25kph) with the 4kph start. For experienced scooter riders, this unit may seem a bit boring. Too slow, not enough range, etc. But as a starting scooter for about $300 when I got it, I can recommend it as it certainly made me smile when I first got going. Only thing I wish I had done differently was spend the extra $20 for the 7.5ah version instead of the 5.0ah, but I was being too cautious on my first scooter purchase and tried to minimize risk with this guy. Overall, happy with the purchase and would recommend but note the range disparity from advertised and get the 7.5ah version instead.
