Yes they are a little thick, the makers could afford to use that plastic to make them thinner but longer and they would be just about perfect.But I don't think they're too thick to injure a book, you be the judge. I just love that they're pretty and I will have them forever and who makes a bookmark without a tassel?

Bookmarks are beautiful and have a pretty silky tassel on them. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they are a little too thick.

I ordered bookmarks to put in envelopes with greeting cards. I held off mailing my friend's birthday card to Germany so that I could enclose a few bookmarks in the envelope. Nope. I had to take them out of the envelope at the post office. These "bookmarks" are pretty. Pretty short. Pretty THICK. Too thick to enclose in a greeting card without sending it parcel rate. So frustrating. I am sending them back because I cannot use them for the purpose for which I bought them - to tuck into mailed greeting cards. They are more than 1/4 inch thick - the postal service clerk could not fit the envelope into the max size slot that they test it with.

Thicker than I expected, book doesn’t close as well as I’d like. But really solid and perfect for what I needed.
