SainSmart Solder Fume Extractor Smoke Absorber with Flexible Magnetic Soldering Arms for Soldering DIY Working Station, 4 PCS Carbon Filter

I'm a electronics hobbyist and, since purchasing it, I've used this with very good results.1. The construction is solid and looks like it will take being knocked about on my work bench.2. I wish the power switch was on the body of the device, but a little DIY work on my part easily modified it for my needs. (See photo)3. The magnetic part holder arms are a nice touch but really only work for small items as the magnets will let go if you try to hold anything larger than a smallish PCB. Great for tinning wire leads, etc.4. As for fume extraction, this thing does a great job of keeping the fumes out of my face.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this fume extractor because I wanted to do away with my mask when mixing resin. The construction is a heavy metal and the attachable arms have a strong magnet base. It came with 3 more filters. I love this item. The fan is powerful and I do not smell a thing. I love the fan sound too. My new sleep aide. I did light a match to make sure the smoke was pulled into the filter and it wagain. I love the clamps. They can be used for so many other things. Would definitely buy again.

this thing sucks the stuff out of the air very well, but the fan is kind of loud. but i guess that is why it works so well. so it is a tradeoff. it is not loud enough that it affects you working, but if you are doing things late at night in the house, it may affect others trying to sleep if you are in the next room, depending on if they are light sleepers or not.

Does what it should but wish it had a little stronger suction. But honestly, it sucks in most of filing dust. A backing to this would be great!!! Maybe I'll tape a bag to it?

Maybe too loud for some but I don't mind, just get that noxious solder smoke out of my face! The magnetic grip arms are handy, although I already has a helping hands with six arms and magnefying light. It really does pull the smoke away but needs to be about a foot or so from your work area for best results.

I liked how this is quiet and works for what I needed it to do. The build on this is great and seems like it would last. Suction power is good for what it needs to do and the type of "smoke" for lack of a better term.

The carbon filters to their job at extracting the fumes quite well, but they’re also pretty flammable as I’ve come to learn. The plastic substructure of the filter and the large amount of airflow from the fan can quickly turn this into a serious safety hazard. I would suggest aftermarket filters.
