So far a great machine
This machine has been excellent for me so far. The torch that comes with it is of good quality but I also bought another torch from a well known brand to get 25 ft reach and the quality is the same.i saw one review about the fan running all the time but they must have updated it because mine runs only on demand. I had one issue and contacted support through the group on Facebook and immediately got a response from a tech from ahp that got me headed in the right direction. Nothing wrong with the machine it was human error. lol I would highly recommend this machine also the starter kit that comes with it is good and interchangeable with the other well known torch I got.

Great machine
This is a great machine for the money. It run stick great. The high frequency for the tig setting works amazing. Has no issue running aluminum on ac. Fan is always on but doesn’t bother me. Dials are great and easy to understand.

Worth the money, but when you can, buy a better torch
(Before you read, I bought my machine off the AHP website, not through Amazon)The machine is great, it's no Miller Dynasty, but it sure can compete. Aluminum, Stainless, and Mild Steel, the machine welds greats, especially for this price. My only complaint is the torch head. It's a NOVA 26 Torch, I purchased a stubby kit that is listed as compatible (If you need to know, Furick Cup) but the insulator didn't fit. I thought no big deal, went to arc zone and purchased one for a 26 torch, which also didn't fit. I proceeded to take the torch to my local Central Welding Supply to see if they had any that would fit. They didn't have any either.Decided to check out the AHP store, and they sold stubby kits (Not individual consumables, unfortunately) but are perpetually sold out. I shaved off some of the insulators to make them compatible. The torch being made by NOVA is the only reason this machine is getting 4/5, the machine itself is fantastic.

Great welder for a great price. Fully adjustable for anything you need, great pedal, can weld aluminum on AC for all the people looking through reviews just to verify.

Loving it
Have a Hobart Mig, Victor Acetylene, and Lotos Plasma cutter. This AHP Tig fits right into my family. Works hard without hiccups and easy to change out consumables. It has been working for me like my Uncle's Miller worked for him, only I haven't been putting it through the paces like he has been doing for over a few decades.

Big improvement from the 200X
I owned an Alpha 200x since 2017 I put it threw the ringer. It still holds strong! But I just updated it to the 225xi. Wow 👌 what a game-changer. I feel I can make some serious side cash now!!! It stacks dimes!!! If you have experience in welding. You don't have to spend 3-5k for a tig machine. 20+ years welding 10 years as a boilermaker!!!

Not very user friendly
I bought this welder to learn tig on. I have heard good things from multiple people and it seemed like a good balance between a budget and quality welder.... unfortunately it is lacking one of the most important aspects for a beginner level tig welder, adjustability. Yes all of the adjustments work as advertised but what I found out once I unboxed it, is there is no way to tell what your adjustment is set to. The maximum amperage is displayed on the lcd screen and that is all you get.. the turn knobs have two numbers to go from, minimum and maximum. As a absolute beginner welder I am having a really hard time adjusting my settings to round about what I know is supposed to work. I know tig welding isn't an exact science and you can't follow a tig recipe to the tee and get the same results, but if you had precise control of your adjustments you could atleast be repeatable with the settingsI really hope this helps someone before they buy this welder. I don't understand why they couldn't atleast print numbers on the board to go off of.
