PES 2017: The Soccer Game that Emphasizes Fluidity and Solid Gameplay
So, I am here to compare FIFA 17 and PES 2017 gameplay (Not comparing Modes like Journey, FUT, Master League etc.). I'm not going to mince words because these are the major soccer game releases every year and gamers are looking for the most enjoyable experience. I played the FIFA Demo, and the PES Demo before making the decision to get and stick with PES 2017 That's the premise behind my review.Graphics: Both games have good graphics quality, but FIFA adds a lot more color to the game. Nonetheless, it doesn't make PES look inferior. In fact, both games look really good. Also, PES 2017 has cleaned up its menu compared to 2016 (which was just awkward). But, that's not what makes a good soccer game.GAMEPLAYPassing : The passing game in PES beats FIFA hands down. The team with a good passing game usually has a higher percentage of success in the overall game since you can keep possession. Press the pass button on PES and the player will pass the ball, do a lob pass and time it correctly, and the ball will reach the player. Do a 1-2 pass and you will be amazed. The game feels organic like it has tiki-taka coded into it. If you want to play a long passing game, set your formation to complement your play style. On FIFA, its a whole new world. I felt like I did not know how to play FIFA anymore. Weird!Fluid Formation and Advanced Instructions : Honestly, I do not dabble into all the intricacies of the formation settings on soccer games, so my opinion is based solely on simple settings. PES has a fluid formation setting which allows you to instruct your team on how to play effectively on attack and defense. That's pretty wild. Because you actually see your players compensating to follow the instructions you have given in the settings. It was a little different at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.Shooting : The shooting in the game is soooooo soooo gooood! Light up that shot and see the ball soar. Its hard to score from outside though, unlike FIFA, which made me feel like, que? On PES, you just measure your shot and the player will finish with the appropriate power. Its mostly consistent. FIFA on the other hand doesn't cut it for me personally.Fluidity : O Man! This game is absofreakinglutely fluid. I mean, the gameplay is so smooth it feels like whipped cream. I think FIFA actually tried to copy this fluidity but it didn't work out. I played the Fifa 17 closed beta and demo and thought it was cute. Nevertheless, PES brings the fluidty to the game. Stuff works in this game.Goal Scoring : Have you seen the replay videos of spectacular goals on PES? Visit the PES Twitter page and see some serious goal scoring elegance which includes (but not limited to) the scissors kick, the back-heel placement, the little tap, hanging free kick and much more.HEADERS ARE WAY OP IN PES, which is one of the downsides of the game, but they feel good when you score. Oh btw, the set piece mechanisms are better than FIFA. You don't need precision metrics on your thumbs to take a corner-kick :)CONCLUSIONOverall, PES 17 wins when it comes to gameplay. FIFA may own the bells and whistles when it comes to licensing, but licensing doesn't guarantee solid and fluid gameplay. Many think its too much work to install an option file which updates jerseys and team logos. IT ONLY TAKES LIKE 6 MINUTES FOLKS. If you want a fun gaming experience, get this game. If you like FIFA, then great, you have found a game to your liking. But if that is not the case for you, I invite you to come and enjoy this title. There will be a learning curve, but one that is worth it.

The best soccer game
The best soccer game. I switched to Fifa in 2011, and switched back to PES in 2016 after playing the demo (wasn't intended at all). Gameplay is Faboulus. Players have different playing style (literally different). For instance, in Arsenal Ramsey is a cool player who connect the team lines, Ozil throw killing passes, Elias in Corinthians, is everywhere in the pitch like a bee, Bosquets is perfect in defense and interceptions, dalessandro (what an amazing maker), and so on. For me, it is a simple equation, if you can not put the controller down, this game is a five star regardless of other factors. Furthermore, the option file issue has been solved. On September 15th, I will receive the PES Universe option file which contains everything. If you are a fanboy, PES is not for you. If you are open to any new experience, I bet you will love PES as same as the old days with Winning Eleven in ps1 and 2. Otherwise, you will keep talking about the useless debate FIFA vs PESUPDATEI gave FIFA 17 a go. Honestly, It is the best FIFA i have ever played, especially compared with the worst two versions FIFA 15 and 16. I don't want to be a fanboy, that's why I played the FIFA demo. I think the pressure that Konami put on EA pushed them to spend more efforts. There is only one thing would ruin the game, If EA decides to change the gameplay in the release day; then they will kill the game. I think competition is always good for gamers. For me, I give PES 9/10 and the only downside of it (it is easy even in the superstar level) while FIFA 17 demo deserves 8.5 (the effect of PES on FIFA is clear, they now focuses on passing, building the attack gradually from the back line, and other things that PES are perfect on; however, they are still behind PES regarding players' playing styles in the pitch) also for FIFA (tactics have no real effect on the game, while PES tactics' changes make a big difference). In conclusion, we will probably have two good soccer games for the first time in my life (unless EA decides to change the gameplay and ruins it)

Same great gameplay from 2016.
Great game! I got tired of the same FIFA gameplay and decided to try PES in 2012. The gameplay and animations were wonderful. Now that you can import kits (feature in 2016) you can have licensed teams for the league(s) of your choice. I was almost swayed to go back to FIFA but tried the demos of both games and decided on PES again this year. The updates have been better than last year and they just seem to keep on coming with face and player updates. I am really happy with what they did this year but it's very iterative to 2016. Still a great game, just not much different from 2016.

While graphics look better on PES the gameplay is better
Received it in closed package. The game is new and works perfectly. The game itself... meh! i definitely prefer FIFA17. While graphics look better on PES the gameplay is better, more difficult and therefore more entertaining on FIFA. Matches on FIFA end up with a few goals or none sometimes. In PES every game is like 5-3 or 6-4... and the defense is not challenging at all on PESThe other thing im experiencing is that every game i have on ps4 can connect to the internet with no issues... all but PES! i'd search the web and found out it's a common issue but in order to fix it i have to modify my isp modem and turn off security settings... and that's not ok!
