Unfortunately my wife has just come down with a medical condition related to tinnitus. Among other things, this problem has ruined her sleep, causing her to awaken several times a night and then having difficulty falling back to sleep.She saw a neurologist who suggested, in addition to being tested in the next week or so, she should get a white noise machine.We came home from the neurologist's office and immediately began looking here on Amazon. I looked (on my computer) and she looked (on hers). I had picked about six of them, including this one but she picked this one only. She said that this < Housbay White Noise Machine with 31 Soothing Sounds, 5W Loud Stereo Sound, Auto-Off Timer, Adjustable Volume, Sleep Sound Machine for Baby, Kid, Adult -Wood Grain > is just what she wanted. It does not have a nightlight, which we do not need or want, and its wood-grain design is very nice and fits well into our bedroom.I immediately ordered it (around 4:00 PM) and, with Amazon's amazing shipping, it arrived around 8:00 PM that evening!We have now used it for two nights running, leaving it on all night. Her preferred setting is White Noise, Lowest Setting with a fairly high volume level.It has been helping her. She has been able to sleep for a much longer period of time and, when she does awaken, this machine overcomes the tinnitus-type problem.I had thought that having this white noise throughout the night would interrupt my own sleep but such has not been the case.The device appears to be very well-constructed of high quality materials and its design is superb. I do not know if the case is actually constructed from wood but, if it’s not, it’s the best simulated wood I have ever seen or felt.We are both very pleased with this device. There are two recommendations I could make to the manufacturer: 1) I wish its auto-off timer had options of 2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours, instead of 1, 2, or 3 hours (though we have been leaving it on all night - I just turn it off manually in the morning when we wake up), and 2) I wish its power input port were a standard USB C port rather than the non-standard one it uses; the port it uses would make replacing the cord, were it ever necessary, to be very difficult.However, regarding the last suggestion, the included power cord seems to be very robust and, as we take good care of our devices, I am sure that the cord will last for the life of the machine (which I hope is a very long time).I especially like the fact that it runs solely on AC power and has no built-in non-replaceable battery. (When those batteries "die" in some device - and they WILL die eventually - that's the end of the device, even if it is still working well.)Not that this attribute is too important to us, but this machine has many more (and many more good) sound options than any of the others at which I looked. (Of course the one we use is my wife's pick.)As I mentioned above, we are very pleased with this white noise machine and I will VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT to you.Especially at its price, just $26.99, Amazon's current price, I regard this machine as a genuine bargain.If you need or just want a well-made and well-designed white noise machine, I hope you'll consider this one. Great help for a light sleeper. Able to drown out noisy neighbors. Is sufficiently loud. Others have mentioned the lack of LED lights for the button indicators. Only the power button lights up. So many variations of sounds and a good selection of white noise and fans sounds. Can't speak to the long-term durability yet as I've just recently purchased this sound machine. Will follow up with future feedback.

I have had a hard time finding the right white noise machine, this one is great! The fan sounds are perfect, and the other sounds such as water and fire are nice additions. The volume goes up loud which is nice because we have noisy neighbors. It has timers or you can run it constantly. The size is compact and the wooden style is cute. Love this. Bought a second one to have on hand.

This is a lifesaver for those of us who need white noise to sleep soundly. My husband snores, breathes noisily, and also stays up later than me so there are lots of sounds I need to drown out to sleep well. I prefer a fan noise and this device offers multiple fan selections (in addition to so many other types of sound). I tested a couple, however I quickly picked up on nuances that indicated the sound was a loop. This concerned me until I tried out a third option and the third time was the charm. Once in a blue moon I'll detect a repeated nuance but it is so rare. I love it and take it with me whenever I travel. Definitely recommend!

Works well but I wish it had a water sound option too.

This is a small powerful little box! It looks great on my nightstand, its very well made. It’s setting work perfectly and I had it so loud I blocked out everything! I sleep in a deep REM sleep with this which is a first in years. I use the blizzard effect. If you have sleep issues, try this and its different sounds until you find one that works. The only thing I wish is it had a six or eight hour timer. It has 1-3 hour settings. I bought it on sale.

This White Noise machine is LOUD and clear. I love it so much, I've finally sacrificed my trusty stand-up fan I've used my entire life. I have insomnia and anxiety, and I can turn this up loud enough to drown out all the thoughts and sleep!

Easy to operate and sounds great. I really like some of the sounds on here that I will be playing while not just sleeping just because it sounds nice. I definitely will be using this while sleeping as well. Thanks so much
