Great price - makes life easier.
Works great, no problems. I used it to change the strings on my Yamaha classical guitar. Could I have done it without this winder, sure, but the winder certainly made it quicker, faster, and easier to change all 6 strings. Fits great on the pegs, no slipping and turns easily. Didn't have any need for the string stretcher or pin puller so can't comment on that aspect.Hope this helps.

Works for a good price
Just used this to change a set of electric guitar strings on a Telecaster.I had a previous model that was similar to this in past. Notable changes:- The joint that connects the peg-head part to the handle is a kind of ball joint. This makes winding a little more smooth on the wrist and it feels better.- The ball joint is plastic on plastic and my model made a little bit of an annoying squeak as I winded it. I put some mineral oil on it that I had nearby and it stopped, no idea if this will destroy the plastic, but at the price of a few bucks I don't care.- The peg head has two sizes arranged in an X, but the smaller size seems to be a little shallow and slipped off a few times as I was winding the pegs on a '52 reissue telecaster.Notable omission from an earlier model:- The old model had a handle with something they called a "string strecher" or something of the like. I decided to write this review because I sort of miss that feature. As it is now, I have to bend the strings and play the guitar to get it out of tune and constantly retune to break in the new strings. The nice thing about that is that you slipped the handle under the string and pulled it as you slid it along the length to get some of the early stretching out of it - it was pretty nice.I would probably buy it again. I've been told by guitar technicians in the past that the drill bit models are foolish, and I can see why. Just measure your string an inch or so above the peg head and you won't have to wind long. You can't get much feel for the tension on the leverage of these things, but you should finish tuning to pitch by hand anyway.Summary:I like that this version is smaller than the old and fits in my case better. The handle joint is smoother than before. I miss a string kind of stretching feature that I had on an older model, though I may have not looked hard enough to find it if I still exists. Basically does what I ask it to do and is really cheap. Definitely worth having since it takes the really boring part of winding out of changing strings. I already had wire cutters - didn't trust buying a peg winder that had them for like ten dollars.

Works great! 🎸
This works perfectly! Takes a lot of pressure off of my old hands to turn them little knobs lol.

Handy tool for string changes.
I like this winder better than the one that came with my luthier set. It has a notch in it for pulling the bridge pins out of my acoustic which is quite handy.

D’Addario Guitar Peg Winder
Does the job. Cheap plastic. Kind of junky for a name brand. You get what you pay for. I recommend upgrading to the $12 Ernie Ball peg winder. Yeah Cmon.

Hey, guitar player. Want to save your time and fingers?
I like things that are designed to one thing and do it well. This peg extractor/string winder is exactly that. Speeds up string changes immensely and saves your fingers from a lot of twisting. The handle gets you to an almost-in-tune pitch in just a few cranks. My Ovation has ball end strings so I have not used the puller on a full set but I tried it on a classical guitar that was on my bench...easy-peasy.

Works but
This thing works and isn't expensive, but it would be nice, I think, if it had some foam padding inside the cupped part that goes on the tuning nut to A) make it not be loose plastic on metal, and B) to maybe help it stay on the nut a little better as you turn it. All in all it works fine, you just kind off slip off the nut easily and it chatters a bit because it's not a snug fit.

Best Peg Winder
You can only get so excited about a great peg winder, but you can get extremely PO'ed about a cheap one.Over the years I have added this Planet Waves model to more than a few of my guitar cases. It is smooth and easy to use. A couple bucks more than some others out there, but it is only a couple bucks - and it is, IMHO - the best. I highly recommend it.The black Jim Dunlop model is my second go to winder and also a quality piece.
