Perfect for small plants
So, just like everyone else, I didn’t expect them to be this small. However, they are perfect for the plants I need them for. I’ve been reading some of the reviews and people have been saying they are flimsy and cheap looking. However, I don’t find this to be try. They look wonderful in a well decorated home. They came with all the cotton pieces and are quite easy to assemble. They are light weight and I appreciate the water indicator to monitor how much water to add. Overall this is a great buy for the pricing. I would like to see how my plants do after a few weeks of using.

Extremely functional & Great Value for money
I sure am glad I found this set while searching on Amazon. I wanted nice looking set of platers for herbs on my kitchen window sill. Visited local Lowe's and Home Depot and they only had ugly black and green planters - for more money!!This set of 6 planters will let me grow all the herbs I want and still have a could extra. I am planning to grow mint (3 variants), coriander, parsley, Basil (2 variants), dill, thyme, oregano, chives, lavender & curry leaf. Will mix and match in the planters to not make them too crowded. The planters, both the other and inner are of thick plastic - should be durable and the colors are very soothing. Plenty of space on the bottom which is a water reservoir. Think will just need to water these once a week to 10 days. The wicks (kind of cotton strips) to suck water into the soil are a great touch making my life easy. Window to see water level should make this idiot-proof.The price of approx $28 was a steal - considering what was on offer at Lowe's.Just one one wish-list for the manufacturers to consider. A small funnel to aid watering would be a tremendous help.

My plants finally grow!
My plants are finally growing! These pots work very well they hold enough water for my herbs for about 3 days. The only thing that could be better is if they would hold enough water for a week. I printed out labels on my circuit for the front of the pots and they look great.

These are fine self-watering pots for herbs
The media could not be loaded. The exterior measurements are much larger than the interior to allow for water in the reservoir. They are perfect for my thyme, parsley, chives. Coupled with the hanging window plant shelves it’s quite nice. Our window faces north but it is enough for the plants during fall and winter. Our herbs were in much larger pots outside all summer, so I had to divide them to fit in these pots. That said, I’d recommend sowing seeds directly in these self-watering pots and put them outside to grow with the seasons and bring in during autumn/winter. If necessary, (no window or limited light) it’s worth adding a grow light.

Great little planters! Very clever, simple design
I think these are great! The price for all six seemed quite reasonable and they are sturdy -- should last for many years if they are used indoors. The fabric strips might not last as long, but it's very easy to see how you could use t-shirt material or even just cotton twine as a replacement.I would recommend pulling the strip up a bit as you fill the pot so that there is more surface area with the potting mix.(The instruction bit you see on the pot above the water indicator is a sticker, and it came off easily.)I am using them for some special plants where controlling their water needs is very valuable. I plan to order more as my collection expands!A couple notes -- not really detractions but just good things to know. The actual interior capacity is small. That makes sense when you consider that the interior has to fit into a not-too-big exterior shell, but they will not hold enough potting mix for big plants. Also, know that the interior just slides into the exterior. So if you're moving the pots around frequently, you have to be careful how you hold them or the exterior will fall right off. I could imagine them "clicking" or screwing together, but that might be more difficult than I realize. Overall, they are very clever, sturdy pots!

Ok
These might do the trick in terms of self water. And there are a generous number of pots, 6, bit they are super cheap looking. I have the cream/green ones. Might return and keep looking. Nothing unique about them. Wish they were a solid color with some sort of design to make them look ceramic or high end.

Great for indoor herbs!
These are great! I would recommend buying some small rocks to put at the bottom (instructions say this, but I didn’t think of it until it was too late - helps prevent dirt from mixing with water at the bottom).
