Clear explanation of “push and go”
Ok, we have the new Duplo trains with the battery motor and we have these cars. I think both use the phrase “push and go” but they use distinctly different mechanisms of propulsion.The train (which is really cool) turns on with a push and the battery motor keeps it going until the train hits an obstacle or runs over a coding tile that tells it to stop. Very cool. Very often found under the sofa or other furniture where it finally hits a barrier. We gave it to our son for Christmas when he was about 20 months, and he really loves it.These Duplo race cars have a “push and go” motor which really means there’s gears and something weighted that helps the car go further than your basic Duplo (or any non special toy) car. It’s similar to the Haba Kullerbu cars, if you’ve tried those. What I love about Duplo is the base to these cars is interchangeable with other Duplo vehicles bases, like construction vehicles and the RV. And my now 2 year old can change up which vehicle has which base. That’s pretty fun for all of us.I bought this set after unsuccessfully searching the internet for a literally explanation of the difference between the train and the race cars because the cars set was finally discounted on Amazon. Considering the undiscounted price of this car set and the red Duplo train set, I would 100% recommend buying the train first. As an investment toy, it offers much more playing options and seems like it will be educational for multiple ages and skill levels.

Little Girls can be Race Car Drivers, Too!
This is an adorable little Duplo set for the youngest Lego lovers, built with the same level of quality we’ve come to expect from the Lego’s family. My granddaughter loves the cars! I was delighted to see both a boy and girl race car driver. The independent movement of the car that allows them to push and let go and then watch it move is super cool for her. She is only 14 months so she is not quite ready to assemble cars, etc. by herself but I’m sure it won’t be too long. For right now, Mom and Dad both enjoy the set with her.

Great toy for it's intended age range
Are son is interested in LEGOs and these bigger ones are great for introducing into that universe. He loves building them playing with them and break them aparts with his robots. Would definitely recommend.

My 3 year old nephew loved it!
Christmas present for my great nephew. I’m in Missouri ans he’s in San Antonio. Ordering through Amazon is great. He gets a better present since I don’t have to add postage. He opened the package and started playing right away! Forget other gifts!
