Hydrates and helps moisturizer go on smoothly
I don't normally use toner, but I was interested in giving this K-beauty brand a try. I liked that the Dr.Different Scaling Toner for Normal & Dry Skin appears to be alcohol free and doesn't have added fragrance. It has some great skin care ingredients like PHA (a chemical exfoliant), glycerin, allantoin, arginine and sodium hyaluronate (see the photo for the full list).I was really impressed with this scaling toner. I have normal but "mature" skin, and my face is a bit sensitive to cleansers. I used this product right after cleansing, and my skin felt more hydrated. I put on my moisturizer right after, and it felt like it went on more smoothly. It is meant to help moisturizer absorb better, and it seems to do a great job at that.It does have a faint chemical smell to it, but it's not noticeable unless I smell it in the bottle. It feels a little bit thicker than alcohol based toners I have tried, but I didn't find it to be sticky at all.I appreciate that the box was sealed with a holographic HiddenTag sticker, but you do need to download an app to check its authenticity. This product is a great addition to my skin care routine, and I will consider buying it again in the future. I recommend giving it a try to balance your skin after cleansing and prepare it for applying moisturizer. The price is a bit high, but I think this is more of a luxury item than a must-have basic.

Fragrance-free, alcohol-free, liquid toner that's moderately moisturizing.
Would I get the Dr. Different Scaling Toner again or recommend it and why: Maybe, it's very nice but the price per ounce is a bit on the mid-range side per ounce compared to similar formulas and products.-I did get some stinging after application so it may be a little strong for my skin. I ended up having to rinse it off and use it as a mask vs toner. (It’s okay to use a product like this as a rinse off mask or treatment vs toner.)-But the formula is very nice and fragrance-free. It's an excellent toner with a good formula but may be too strong for those with sensitive skin.Size:6.76 oz (ounces) (or 200 ml)Container:Clear plastic bottle with a twist off lid and dispenser opening. It comes in an outer carton. The inner lid does have a foil seal under it that you must peel off, so it is sealed. You tip the bottle to dispense the drops. You only need a few drops for your whole face about 3-5 drops. The bottle does not over-dispense and waste product, it's a tiny dropper opening.Formula:This is a clear see-through watery liquid toner. It's a bit on the sticky side and does leave the face a bit sticky, but well moisturized. I would say it's moderately moisturizing vs toners that don't leave moisture.Scent:It is fragrance free with no added perfumes, scents, fragrances, essential oils, or fragrant plant oils. It has the faintest natural scent from the ingredients. It's only noticeable when testing for a scent by sniffing and checking. I did not notice it during normal use or application at all. I'm very sensitive to scent and would consider this unscented and safe for those sensitive to scent.Application:A little goes a long way. 3-5 drops should be all you need for your face. It's watery and spreads very well and sinks in quickly. It does again leave the skin a little sticky and tacky feeling. It may be better as a bedtime product than under makeup due to the sticky texture.Sensitive skin:I have very sensitive skin and had some stinging after use. It took a few minutes after application to start stinging. I ended up having to rinse it off my skin due to the stinging. It may be too strong for those with sensitive skin.Skin Types:oily, normal, dry should be okay, but it may not be okay for those with sensitive skin.Skin issues and concerns it addresses:mild exfoliation helps with-discoloration, hyper-pigmentation, acne, texture, pores and general aging. It helps with cellular turnover as a mild chemical exfolliant.Body Areas:Face, neck and could be used on the back of the hands.Ingredients:Water, Gluconolactone, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Arginine, Sodium Citrate, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Panthenol, Trehalose, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Allantoin, Betaine, Citric Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Zinc PCA, Beta-Glucan, Sodium ChlorideStandout Ingredients:arginine, ureaIngredients checked on both Paula Begoun's and Incidecoder's skincare ingredient encyclopedias:-I checked the ingredients listed in both encyclopedias and found no problematic ingredients. There were no common allergens, fragrances, essential oils or irritating alcohols. The ingredients were listed as generally favorable and good for the skin.Major Ingredients by function:-Anti-acne: Zinc Pca-Exfoliant: Gluconolactone-Skin-identical ingredient: Glycerin, Arginine, Sodium Hyaluronate-Soothing: Panthenol, Allantoin, Beta-Glucan-Emollient: Caprylyl Glycol-Moisturizer/humectant: Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Panthenol, Trehalose, Caprylyl Glycol, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Zinc Pca, Beta-GlucanAllergens:No gluten or wheat or common allergens listed in the ingredients.Pros:-The bottle protects the formulation from air and bacteria by using a dropper opening vs dropper top with a dropper.-Fragrance-free with no added perfume, fragrance, essential oils or fragrant plant oils or extracts.-Dye free-Alcohol free-Moderately moisturizing (those with normal to dry skin likely will need an additional moisturizer over this, it may be enough moisture for those with oily skin)-Exfoliating-Very good ingredient listing.-The bottle has a protective foil seal under the cap.Cons:-May be a little strong for those with sensitive skin. I did get some stinging after use. It was delayed and not immediate but within 30 minutes or so. It was enough that I ended up having to rinse it off.-The price is moderate for the size and formula. It's a nice formula, but not the least expensive option.-The bottle is clear and lets light in vs an opaque non-see through bottle. Light degrades skincare formulations and it's always best in a non see-through non-clear bottle.-The bottle did not list the ingredients, only the outer carton had them. I had to clip them off the outer carton and attach them to the bottle with a clear hair elastic.Tips and Thoughts:-Wear sunscreen daily, but especially when using an exfoliating product or toner like this one.-If you find it's too harsh, it's okay to rinse it off and use it like a mask you only wear for a few minutes. (Dr. Dray YouTube dermatologist discusses doing this with products that you are a little sensitive to if left on the skin, that using them for a few minutes can be a way of using them if you can't leave them on) (not affiliated just a fan).Final Thoughts:-It may be a little too strong for those with very sensitive skin. I found eventually I had to wash it off from the delayed stinging that began about 20 minutes after application.-It's a nice, well-formulated, fragrance-free toner. It's a good option. But it's not the cheapest option as the price is moderately expensive per ounce compared to other options.

leaves the skin feeling tacky and sticky
Love the shape of the bottle and love the name “Dr. Different.” What’s not to love? Well, the fact that it leaves my skin feeling tacky and shiny for a couple of things. If you use this of a morning and then add a moisturizer over it, it still looks shiny and tacky feeling which I don’t like. Applying just this of an evening, my face stayed tacky or sticky feeling for more than an hour. It’s like glue.It does say “scaling toner” and I got it because a toner is supposed to help your skin get back to normal after cleansing. I’m not sure what it means by scaling but I’m not a fish. I have a feeling it’s something to do with the PHA component which helps in exfoliating the skin. It seems to me that exfoliating the skin is different from simply bringing your skin back to a normal pH and getting ready for the day. To me, it’s more of a cleaner.I’ve tried this and every time it leaves my face feeling tacky and shining looking.I tried a different moisturizer. I tried it of an evening before bed. Each time I got the same results of tacky feeling skin.I think it’s fine to have on hand to try something different occasionally. It states that it contains a high concentration of PHA component. The box states PHA of 10% and I don't know if that's considered a high amount or not. Maybe this would be good for spot treatment? That is around under the eyes or fine wrinkles?I don’t think this is the toner for me. The stickiness is just too much.
