Yeah, simple installation is a lie
Not premium by any means, but solid enough. Instructions are pathetic; you’re not really sure if it’ll fit at all until you’ve removed the cover strips and put everything in place. So here’s a summary: use a screwdriver to pop the plastic strips off your roof. There are brackets in the box that you’ll rivet to your roof in the grooves under those cover strips, using (on each end) two of the holes that had been used to clip the plastic strip in place. So you’ll need a rivet gun, probably a chisel to slice off the plastic surrounding those holes, and maybe a drill to prep the holes for the rivets. Then you’ll use paper templates (in the box) to mark your roof strips for drilling ~1” holes in the plastic (that bit is in the box). Once you’ve cut those holes, you’ll bolt the rail feet to the riveted brackets with the bolts passing through the holes, sandwiching they plastic cover strips between them. At least that’s how it looks right now, I have to go out and buy a rivet gun before I actually do it.Update: Installation went fine and the rack has performed solidly. The one amendment I have to the above is that the plastic strips on my car were actually plastic-covered metal, and they ripped the teeth right off the 1” hole saw bit that is included in this kit. I ended up using tin snips to finish cutting the holes. Also, make sure to use the included sealant to seal around the rivets.

Broken mounting bracket
The mounting bracket weld was compromised and not strong. The rail wont be able to secure to the mounting bracket because there are no screw threads to have it seed into.Install process is not easy and very time consuming. Need a rivet gun. Would not buy again because of defective part

Tools are required.
The instructions call for drilling holes and using a rivet gun. The website says easy installation. I’m returning it.

Complicated install and not capable of holding weight (lower that 165 pounds)
The installation directions are incomplete. Installation requires mechanical drills for roof and for drillings holes in the side rail covers on the vehicle. A rivet gun is also required for installation. The rails failed while carrying a 120 pound load (used thule crossbar system). Am returning them.
