What the Indian Heel Shift Should Have Been
I installed the heel shift about four months ago as one one of the first add-ons for my (new to me) 2014 Chief Vintage. Before buying, I compared this Kuryakyn heel shift to the Indian product. As "official" Indian after-market gewgahs are pricey, I was not surprised that the Kuryakyn model was less than half the price of Indian's. And the Kuryakyn heel shift offers a better design - the shift sits lower and behind the rear of the floorboard. There's little interference with your full use of the floorboard real estate for resting your foot. Out of the box, you will appreciate the finish and substantial heft of construction. The chrome was evenly applied and free of imperfections. Installation was easy once I got beyond the poorly-written instructions. As another reviewer noted, be sure to use the spacers provided when installing so the shift properly aligns. I also took note of another reviewer's suggestion to use a shorter peg, as a longer peg may interfere with your left calf when your foot is on the ground. I preferred a peg with a larger diameter and so I purchased this peg: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OPPSGU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is fatter and short. I think you can add whatever peg suits your preference. In sum, I was happy with the functionality and price. This is one piece of equipment that, while not essential, is oh-so-nice to have on on a bagger.

Should have come with bike
I know some riders don't like a heel shifter, me, I think they should come on all touring bikes. When I bought my 2020 Indian Roadmaster, I knew I would add a heel shifter. I had intended to install the OEM, but after reading reviews, I went with the Kuryakyn shifter. I couldn't be more happy. No floorboard area is taken by the shifter because it comes up from below. I do recommend the Indian pegs because the rear needs to be short. My first one was too long and rested against my calf when standing still. The upgrade to Indian's front and rear pegs solved the problem. The installation only took me an hour. Very pleased.

Good./decent
Good quality and fits my Indian chieftain 2014 perfect. But this product is slightly misleading showing a picture with a shifting peg and it doesn’t come with a shifting peg. The description says it does not come with one. But it’s pictured with one. Make sure you buy one along with this and hopefully the threads match.
