Pro Tip below for those who, like me, feel this ink is too pink.I hesitated on getting this ink, now I sort of wish that I had gone with something else. I won't return it, but I want to try and help other potential purchasers know what they're going to be getting if they purchase this ink.The color is listed as "Red", and the ink in the jar looks VERY red (I did worry about the pink box and label). Now that I own a jar (although you can just barely read it in the photo now that I check) the label on the box, and the jar, is "Rose Red", which is a better descriptor, as this is not a pure red hue. It's too cool for my taste, almost a magenta; I would rather a too orange, than too blue red.It does seem fairly water resistant, writes smoothly and lays down well. It's a good partially-opaque pigmented ink... I just don't care for the particular shade of red.PRO TIP: I do own a Sepia toned ink ( Platinum fountain pen Ultra pigment ink particles Blanc sepia INKG-1500 # 65 (japan import) ) which I have mixed with this ink. I am happy to result they mix well and produce a nice earthy warm red, which is totally usable.One other thing that I want to say is that the jar is pretty great (as with all Platinum Carbon Pigment inks which I've purchased). It's very functional and unpretentious and it comes with a conical insert that assists with filling pens, but also makes it an excellent choice for using with dip pens. This insert is so incredibly useful that I wish all ink manufacturers made similar devices standard issue with each of their bottles.

At last, the perfect red fountain pen ink for grading assignments! This ink works perfectly on every kind of paper with no bleed-through, show-through, feathering, or smearing. While several fast drying red inks also have those properties, this is the only one that is also waterproof. That is a huge plus living in a place where it rains and snows a lot, not to mention the inevitable coffee spill during a long grading session. The ink does look rather pink on certain papers if you have a dry-writing pen, but with a wet medium or fine nib it makes a good clear red that is not an in-your-face red, but still stands out enough for correcting. This is as "inoffensive" a red as can be while still attracting enough attention to itself.

It is as bright as it shows on the pictures and has shown no signs of being susceptible to water or anything else. It flows well, sometimes a little too well but that could be the pen itself. definitely worth buying.

Stuff is red to dark pink. Will be red with Fine Nibs and up. Finer nibs...will be almost dark pink.Major plus of this stuff is it flows well and doesn't clog up, which is saying a lot for being a pigmented ink.I match this up with the Carbon Black and the Blue Pigmented versions of this ink. Works for me.

レビューを見た感じでは暗めの赤や緋色、落ち着いた赤という感想が多かったので購入してみました。個人的な感想ですが、まず瓶を見てドビー！といったショックは多少感じられましたが、実際にはとても使いやすい赤でした。使って見た感じもレビューにあるような深い赤という印象はなく、名前にあるようなローズレッドという感じでもない、落ち着いていて綺麗な赤よりの赤ピンクでした。(サインペンにありがちな蛍光色には寄ってないと思います)いい意味で裏切られた感じです。筆記用インクなだけあって文字を書いてもそこまで目がチカチカする感じもなく、赤系にしては随分と字の読みやすい色です。顔料インクなだけあって染料インクよりもかなり滲みが少なく、そのへんも字の読みやすさに繋がるのかもしれません。
