This is an awesome knife! In fact, I ordered another one so I have two for using in the kitchen on a daily basis.

Mercer knives are no joke!
I started with a Mercer chef knife, not even the most expensive model, and keep buying more. The curved pairing knife is a great tool for pealing and carving all kids of fruits and vegetables. All Mercer knives I’ve purchased so far come with razor sharp edges. I highly recommend for anyone that want a great knife without breaking the bank.

This is the most comfortable peeling/paring knife I have ever used
This is my first purchase of a Mercer knife. I can't express how impressed I am with their quality. This is the most comfortable peeling/paring knife I have ever used. It arrived sharp out of the box and quality of detail is outstanding. My first attempt at replacing a paring knife was purchasing a Global Western Style Paring knife. Yeah, I fell for the hype. It required sharpening before use to peel potatoes. The handle was pretty but not comfortable when holding it to peel. I have several knives that are 20-30 years old that I would like to replace over the coming months and they will ALL be replaced with Mercer knives. If you've skipped over Mercer knives (like me) in your searches because the name isn't as well known to the home cooks as others, just try one. You won't be disappointed! You will find out why this brand is actually preferred by many professional chefs for value and quality. A fact I didn't know til recently...

Ok curved peeling knife
For the price, I expected better. I have the Mercer M23640 3.5" curved peeling knife and it performs so much better than this knife. It is sharper with a thinner blade and is amazing. I use it for everything. It doesn't have the non-slip grip, but it is still a way better knife. Simply get the M23640 knife and skip this 4" one. You won't regret it.

Works as described
A Tourne Knife has some specific uses in a kitchen. Mercer knives are good quality, although they do sell several levels of their knives. The Genesis line is in their top tier of quality. This knife works as it is supposed to, comes out of the box very sharp and should give many years of use. There are a couple of reviews here that seemed to indicate a manufacturing defect, a simple solution is to go to their website and you will see that most of their knives are warrantied for up to 25 years. If you get in touch with them I'm pretty sure they will take care of your issue. In fact, if you look at some of the one and two star reviews the manufacturer responds to all of them and tries to fix the problem.

Amazing quality for the price
I broke my Henkles knife and the replacement was over $50. This knife has a better balance and feel. Blade is high quality and looks durable. Really happy with Mercer. I have a complete knife set by Mercer and it’s held up well.

Perfect for peeling fruit.
Ergonomic to use and sharp. Purchased this for an elderly person who likes to peel fruits daily and has issues with gripping things. Its perfect for them and their use.

This potato peeler has now gone hunting
This was bought for my wife who was looking for a very small paring knife with curved blade. It turns out, the handle did not suit her and she wanted a shorter blade. It also turns out that I love this little gem and to be honest I have not found a chore that this knife does not excel at. What I really appreciate is the ease of sharpening right to the tip which allows the point end to be very sharp. This is critical to my use of the tip of a knife blade. I should make one slight correction- one chore this knife is not good at is slicing. While my use has been mainly within the kitchen, I am currently in the process of designing a sheath to carry this beauty into the field where I see it as a great dressing knife for hunting purposes and as a general outdoor camp utility knife. The steel is German and I really feel one cannot go wrong with this type of steel. For me this is a winner!Update Nov. 1/17 Still using this gem of a knife and contemplating another one for field use but now spotted the riveted version and really don't know what to do. This tool really holds an edge, only needs a touch-up every now and then with a steel. Absolutely great knife which is capable of doing it all. (said earlier it was not a slicer, however, it can do an admirable job there as well) Thank you to Mercer and Amazon.
