It started my dead car right away! Very easy to use!The negative reviews are probably because they have a bad battery. Mine is pretty new, but I rarely drive, and the cold always makes it die.This really is a good product!

This is the second starter I have bought from this company. The first one lasted a few years, but was eventually lost or stolen from my car. I bought this replacement and was happy to see it was identical to the other one. So, truthfully, I have not used this replacement unit yet, but as it is identical to the one I lost. I know it will be excellent. I have used the previous one dozens of times successfully!

Haven't needed to use this yet, but it's reputation precedes it. Our son (Matt) gifted my husband and me each, our own personal GooLoo.HOW IT ALL BEGAN:My husband was given a jump by one of these. One day he had a dead battery and a young lady offered to give him a jump. She walked away, came back with this tiny little box-like thing, as my husband looked at it in curiosity wondering what it was. When she told him it was her jump starter, it was all my husband could do to keep from bursting out in laughter. All he could think was 'Is this girl joking? What does she think that little thing is gonna do ?' .... Well you can imagine his surprise 😮 when his pickup kicked right-over. He was highly impressed by the power that came out of this small, lightweight box (as we are used to those traditional huge, clunky chargers... puts a whole new slant on 'big is not always better' lol). The gal explained that her dad got it for her, so he could feel assured of her being able to quickly & easily handle her own jump, if need be.So my son decided that it was a great 'Father's Day' gift to give him. My husband has already given a couple of jumps with it, and it's still going strong even without a recharge. It's also compact enough to fit behind the seat of his pickup truck.As I was flipping thru the manual of my own 'Christmas' gift jump starter, I noticed another cool feature of the GooLoo...it can also be used to charge your cellphone or tablet.With all these incredible features, and at such an awesome price, how can you go wrong?!

Funny story - I was searching my Amazon orders to find some information on a marine battery charger I had purchased. This came up in my search history, and I thought it was an error because I have literally no recollection of actually ordering it. Apparently a year and a half ago I got it, put in my car and totally forgot. It had been tucked away in my vehicle the entire time. I assumed it would be more than dead after all this time. I was absolutely shocked when I pulled it out of its case to charge it and it had four out of five bars of its charge. The flashlight worked perfectly so did the cell phone charge port. I have no doubt in my mind that it would’ve provided a jump to my car, had I actually known it was there! Either way, I think it deserved a review based on how well this item actually retained its charge. Because that’s the catch with things like this, you always worry that when you need it, it’ll be dead. Well year and a half later, having resided in a hot car interior, it worked just fine.UPDATE: a friend at work needed a jump today and much to my surprise, I got this charger out and it had all of its bars 2years after I had stored it last! Best thing was it was super easy to hook up to the car, positive to positive and negative to negative on the battery directly. Turn the power on the box and my friend started her car up on the first try. Shockingly easy!!!!!

I'm having a wiring issue in my car and occasionally it will drain the battery. Before getting this I would have to find a nice stranger or wait for roadside assistance. Both take time and can be dicey in some situations. I got this to avoid the hassle and I had to use it yesterday at the gas station. So easy and quick! It took longer to repack the parts than restarting the car! And there's still plenty of charge left for future jumps.If you've never hooked up jumpers before the instructions are clear and has pictures. And the charger itself is labeled and color coded for attaching the cable connector correctly. There's light that tell you if everything is connected properly.The reason for knocking a star off is the travel kit has mesh compartments to put the cables and charger box. But it's a little hard to repack. I had difficulty zipping it back up after. Also, the cables are short and the same length so you need to be careful and thoughtful once you attach the red. The charger itself needs to be able to rest on a surface near the battery because of the length of the cables.Not deal breakers but something to be aware of.The overall kit is the size of a school textbook and roughly same weight. Easy to store in your car.While this costs quite a bit more than traditional jumper cables it's worth not having to rely on/risk finding another car to connect to. Another benefit is if your battery isn't easily accessible for another car to connect to.... this jumper can get to it.Highly recommend for your roadside kit!

The packaging and the directions are quality. I like the case and I like the way this was designed. It seems to be well thought through. After fully charging it I started my 2010 Honda Odyssey twice with a dead battery. After that it only showed one bar down from charge and I have had no problems with it. The cord length seems fine to me even though it's short and every part about this is just what I would want. Glad I bought this instead of the unit that was at Walmart I saved a lot of money and honestly I feel good about this thing. We'll see how long it holds up I'm going to use it a bunch more tomorrow because I have charging issue with my vehicle I can't get it to the shop for a bit. I would recommend this without hesitation. We'll see how long it holds up But I'm sure it's just like anything you would buy at a big box store and maybe better.
