My 5 year old loves these books. We have purchased a few different types of these but love the full size these come in.One of the pens was broken but not a big deal since they come with 2.

For my 4 yr old. To practice. The finger guide broke after 2 days use. And the pen cover is already missing. A pushpoint pen would probably be a better bet. And a pen holder color that is not so standard. I had to put tape on this pen to differentiate if from a normal black pen.

My son still uses both hands when writing, however just over the past few days has gained a little more hand control with this books. The guided shapes are a great tool for kids learning to write legible.

The book's design and content is really sleek and clean. It's help the young learner pay attention as spaces and layout are well placed. My kiddo loved activity books and she'd developed good penmanship so the smaller book suits her well. I APPRECIATE that they provided many inks! This is so generous so we can repeat this book as many times as she want. No need to wipe or erase, it's amazing that the ink disappears just the right time-not too early nor too long. KUDOS to the maker for the details given.

So I actually wanted to send these back because they just seem cheap and kind of lame, then I checked the price I paid. Whatever, it was cheap enough, you get what you pay for. They are small paper books with very, I mean very, small grooved out images to trace. It's super easy to write out of the grooves. The books are like thick construction paper and I'm sure my kiddo will have them ripped in a few days. The finger training gripper is made for a right handed child, which my child is not, so that's useless to us. The ink is pretty cool, it starts to disappear around having the second row of digits completed. I do like that. The books are cute and have a variety of activities. The bag is simple but cute, just a little zip up cloth bag to hold everything. It also came with 2 pen cases and a bunch of extra ink. For now, in spite of my complaints, it's actually cute and well liked by my toddler, maybe cause it's new?

These books are small but I love that they all fit in the zipper bag and can be taken to appointments or church to give the kids something to do while sitting and listening. I purchased them primarily for my third grader who needs help with the muscle memory on which direction numbers/ letters go. My first grader and 4 year old also enjoy practicing. We will get a lot of use out of these as a homeschooling family!
