A little pricey but you cant find these adapters easily. Quality made, good quality wood.

If you need to make an adapter of your own this will let you do it. It's nice to have on hand, just in case.

Hollow
The core is hollow halfway through and well beyond the threads reducing strength and integrity. I don’t understand the reason for this empty space and lack of wood core since whatever is being screwed in stops where the threads do.

Looks like Hickory to me.
Beautiful product. Yes it is bored beyond the threads.My pole will be used for a climbing stick clip. I wanted to protect the threads when it will be a walking stick between climbs. Based on the negative reviews I ordered PC-Petrifier and epoxy kit to coat and fill this andwill paint the exterior with Testors enamel model paint as well. A little extra work but I expect it to last.
