Educational and fun
I have always purchased the national geographical products each year at Christmas and my son loves them. He specifically asked for the crystal one this year as he had been learning about it at school. It's always a really fun but educational growing kit. The instructions are easy to follow and the crystal grows over tike in water. My son currently has it in his bedroom and it does glow in the dark so he is thrilled!Would highly recommend.

This is not 8+ it is 6+
The box says 6+ which is a bit disappointing as I bought this for a 9 year old who is now disappointed that he gets a toys for 6 year olds. Kids are very sensitive about this.Apart from that, it looks good, not used it yet.

Good item but expensive.
I expected larger and better quality gemstones. Grandson liked it.

Impossible to remove from growing glass
Crystal grow as stated, but don't put it in a glass drinking glass because it is impossible to get it out, maybe try a plastic cup you can cut with scissors, I returned the one I bought my son was so disappointed
