Modern MastersDP612-32 Exterior Dead Flat Varnish, 32-Ounce

Flipped some furniture using chalk paint, needed a clear top coat sealer. This was recommended to me by a friend and it worked great! Goes on a little bit milky but dries quickly and is clear, not gloss but matt. I was impressed with easy cleanup (used sponge brushes) and very little if any smell. I highly recommend it.

Used it for 2 different projects so far and both times absolutely in love with the final look. Beautiful effect on old oak furniture after removing old varnish. Does not change wood color, does not yellow it, it will make it look half a tone darker - although not really, it more like brings out the true color of the wood and its grain. Has minimal sheen, just enough to make the wood look smooth and elegant, nothing more. I also used it to finish raw barn wood and again, same effect, bringing all beautiful different tones in weathered wood. Funny thing, if you read the actual label is says NOT to use it on raw wood, which is quite ironic, since everybody says to use it for raw wood. I don't see why not, it worked like a magic for both oak furniture and barnwood. 10/10.

I hunted everywhere for a clear-coat that wouldn't turn a white object yellow. I finally found it in Dead Flat Varnish! See photos for why it is so important that it remain white... We used it as a protective clear coat for our store's mascot, a life-sized, custom painted model horse. We painted her white so she'd get people's attention as they drove by on the road and added spots to make her interactive (some spots are shaped like a heart, star, state of Maine, etc).She has to be outside in the heavy snow of Maine winters and the baking sun of Maine summers, as well as stand up to many hands touching her and the costumes we'll add for different seasons. I gave her four coats and "dead flat" is the perfect name because once dry, you can't tell there's a clearcoat at all! This makes her look natural, exactly as we hoped.She made it through the summer with no scratches or damage, even after having spiderwebs swept off with a straw broom multiple times. I consider this varnish worth every penny!

Great for finish coat. Will not shine. Matte finish.

Did not get product,it was a liquid and was open and spilled all out in the box,ordered twice and didn't get it
