Good cheap barbell for beginners.
I have the 5 ft black barbell, so my review will be relevant for that version of the product. I can't speak for the other lengths and colors.TL;DR: This is a good bar for beginners looking to get in to basic strength training, but it may not be ideal for advanced lifters or olympic lifters.I really like the barbell and I would recommend it for beginners looking to get in to basic strength training on a budget. The knurling isn't too sharp or uncomfortable, and the grip is a 1" diameter as advertised. Not that this is a stiff bar and will not flex or bend until it reaches failure, in which case the bar is ruined and you will need a new one. This is not a "deadlift bar" which will turn into a bow under heavy weights. Some things to know. This barbell is not ideal for olympic lifting, as the sleeves don't spin, they are fixed in place. That's not to say that it can't work for that, as I have used it for cleans, but there can be a small amount of resistance to bar rotation, so having a bar with rotating sleeves would be more ideal for carryover to proper olympic lifts. Additionally, the 5 foot bar is too short to perform the snatch, as the sleeves are 1 foot each, so the handle length is only about 3 ft.The bar has an advertised max capacity of 300 lbs. I've deadlifted 270 with it and there's no sign of give in the bar, so the 5 ft bar may have more than 300 in it, but I'm certain that my bar can go to 300, so that weight is accurate at least. The black paint has scraped off a bit on the sleeves from loading and unloading plates, but there's no sign of rust or other issues yet, so it seems to just be a cosmetic issue. Maybe it wouldn't be best if you're looking to post to the 'gram but otherwise it seems just fine. The barbell also needs 25mm collars for the sleeves for those who are wondering. I've tried it with 24 mm collars and they're too small. They'll go on and off, but they're not quite big enough to come on and off easily, so 25 is the size to go with.

Great bar for a beginner
For this low of a price, this is a great bar for someone that doesn't lift a ton of weight. As many others are saying, clips are kinda loose on this bar but it's a very simple fix. Just put a rubber band or something on the clip when you put it on the bar and it stays on nice and snug. No complaints here.

long and strong
Nice to have a long bar rather than the 3' and 4' bars I have. It works and the grip isn't aggressively sharp. I can do wide bench press and since I'm 6'2" I don't have to go to the gym to achieve this. :)

7' Best used for lower weight, Will NOT work with 1" spring clips
The plate stop ring on the first bar I received had popped loose, but Amazon promptly replaced it within 2 days. Shipping issues sorted, I got to work. The description says it can handle up to 300lbs, but I would not advise this. As you can see from the picture, with just 215lbs it has a very pronounced arch (starts around 175). This normally wouldn't be an issue except for the wobble. When I start to hit failure and shake the bar begins to wiggle making heavy reps very difficult. The plate holder part of the bar is NOT 1" and will not work with 1" clips. When I stay around 165-170 range I don't have these issues. All in all, for the cost it's decent, but would probably have gone for the 6' if I'd known.

Please don’t buy
let’s just say if you’re into the business of wasting your money then this is the direction you should head because this bar is very unstable and the bar is not 1 inch diameter which means 1 inch clamps will not hold your weights from falling off unless you use some type of creativity to do so

Sturdy bar, collar solution found.
Great standard bar, nice and solid. For everyone looking for collars to clamp onto the sub 1" ends, you can purchase old-school style cast iron outer barbell collars from York Barbell that work perfectly on the cheap. Have one. Have some York Barbell collars, too.
