Excellent and Relevant
This book by Ruth Ben-Ghiat is excellent. She divided the book into three broad sections: the rise, the 'tactics', and the fall. There is no chapter on the conditions that cause autocrats to rise or fall. You, the reader, must draw the lessons from the chapters in the book. When you read the book, there is a chance you will recognize your local autocrat. The book opens your eyes to the dangers these people pose. I hope we learn from the book and use the lessons for our benefit.Well written, the book is relevant and a pleasure to read.
