Worth every penny (120 volt grinder)
Let start off by saying that the product spec on amazon are wrong. It Is listed as an air powered /230 volt grinder??? It's actually a 120 volt grinder. You can go to the Makita website and get the full product specs. Anyway this is exactly what I was looking for. It's a very well made and powerful 9" grinder. If you are considering a 7" you might as well go for the 9", there will be situations you wish you would have if you don't. If you are new to grinders and plan on using one to cut brick, concrete etc this will work but keep in mind the diameter of the cuttings wheel is much different than its cutting depth. For example a 4" grinder can go as deep as an inch and a 9" grinder can go as deep as 3" depending on the angle/ position. This grinder is very powerful, a bit heavy but that's to be expected for a unit this size. It has a 15 amp motor so I highly recommend a good quality extension cord, 12 gauge minimum, 50 foot max (for lengths longer than 50 ft I recommend a 10 gauge extension cord) or you'll risk a high voltage drop to the grinder which will cause the motor to draw more amperage and possibly burnout prematurely. Extension cord are the one thing people tend to skimp on not realizing or taking into consideration the equipment it's going to power so yeah..It's an excellent grinder for a great price. I highly recommend it.

Awesome tool, don't hesitate to buy
If you work construction and you call yourself a man, you need this angle grinder. They don't sell 9" blades at the orange and blue stores so be sure to order some blades online with the grinderThis thing is awesome, I'm not sure why all these ladies are whining about the weight, its really not that heavy considering the size of the tool and its capabilities. You can use 7" wheels on this also so no sense in buying the 7 inch, grab this one and you can use both sizes, you never know when you'll need the extra size.I own a construction company and I have tens of thousands of dollars in tools yet for some reason this grinder really made me smile....just something awesome about a 9 inch grinderMakita tools are really stepping it up, I've been buying a lot of them recently and I am yet to be disapointedHighly recommend

Quality Tool
I bought this to replace a weaker Craftsman that burned up on me as I was scarifying a concrete slab in prep for tile. This has good balance & power and a nice long, supple cord, and you can feel the hefty, solid quality. I expect it to serve me for a good while.

Makita 9-inch grinder works well for Flagstone work
I orginally was helping a friend work on his vacation villa in Spain. This friend rented this very same grinder and we used it for cutting stone facing material and cement blocks.A month ago, I decided to purchase this (on Amazaon.com) to help with my hobby projects of building flagstone walks/steps.Together with the Bosch diamond tipped blade, I was able to cut through 3 1/2 inch flagstone slabs in a matter of a few minutes. I thoroughly love this product.Makita GA9020 9-Inch Angle Grinder

Well balanced and powerfull
I bought this in order to cut compound miters on brick that I was using to build a mailbox pillar to match my house. Being from Europe I was a little skeptical that a 120V tool would be powerful enough to do this, but matched with a nice Gila diamond blade I was able to do clean straight cuts with minimal breakage in a very reasonable amount of time. Overall I'm very pleased with this tool.

This thing will put hair on your chest.
What a BA machine. I feel like a total BA myself when I'm using it. It sliced through a brick wall like a lightsaber generating a dust cloud that rivaled a small volcano eruption.Seriously though, this thing is nice. It feels very well made, and it will handle anything you can throw at it.

Made in Georgia
This is a powerful and rugged grinder. Even though it is a Japanese company this is made in Georgia USA! There is no other grinder made in the USA anymore and coupled with the proven Makita brand it was a no brainer. Highly recommend
